Hoodriver news is going to have an article tommorrow on the full story. Doesnt sound good. Most windsurfers wear helmets not much of an issue. But kitesurfers...
... Really? That's not what I notice. I wear it when I'm learning now stuff or really pushing it, otherwise nope. Most windsurfers tend to not pile into logs...
Also, the helmet is a nice protection form the sun. When I sailed in Cabarete last year that was actually a very big reason to always have it on, even when...
Yea, there is a cool helmet out there. You could use my skydiving helmet for windsurfing. full carbon. you could be the first to sport it windsurfing! plus you...
I lot of views of the incident at the following site. http://www.nwkite.com/forums/t-4680.html ======================== Mike Baker firewood2005 at gorge dot...
From 2pm on the mm5 looks pretty good, with about 5 millibars increasing to 8 millibars by 5 and thereafter. May have to contend with T-Storms but that only...
I'm lucky. All of my Hatch/Doug's/Wall sailing friends wear helmets on the water, and we practice freestyle. Peer pressure got me into buying a Gath helmet,...
Be careful about T-storms. If they are up over the summit of the Cascades (like they are today), they will trump the gradient and suck the wind backwards from...

I'm really starting to climb the walls. If, at high noon today in Olympia (have an errand to run down there), I sense some air movement, I will look for wind...

You could always try the "virtual protection" image. When I was a hockey goalie in my youth, my coach would use a magic marker to sketch "stitches" onto my...
i wear a cheapo skate helmet that I've been clocked over the head in doing so many sports i had to repaint it :) I always wear the helmet doing freestyle/loops...
Steve, My helmet is a Bern Baker wakeboarding helmet. You can get it with or without the ear covers. Nice thing, it has a small bill on the front, just the...

Hey Brent - Looks like Lk Wenatchee must have ripped on Sunday. How was it? Any guess if it will happen again up there today? There's .08 gradient between EVT...
Couple things. As of this moment there is no wind at Ellensburg, so I would be skeptical about Lake Wenatchee (or Rimrock or Bumping). Also, both webcams at...

At noon there's .12 points of pressure between EVT and WEN and it's blowing 22 at Lk Wenatchee. The webcam shows white caps ...
Cloudline cloudline cloudline. In my experience if the clouds are over the lake it's lousy, looks like that's the case today. No break in the clouds at the...
Glenn did very well, taking first place in 4 out of 5 races in the Sportsman class. Well done Glenn :) Those racers are totally crazy...they have some mad...
In my vast experience at Rimrock, clouds that cover the lake are still OK as long as there is a break somewhere downwind. I have seen clouds as far east as...

FWIW, this morning's run of MM5 is showing pretty light today for Wenatchee (<10 MPH). Tomorrow & Wed looks really nice though (20-ish tomorrow, 25-ish Wed)....
Roger, the gradient didn't materialize until late and flow was to southerly, much like today. Lake Wenatchee does best with westerly or northwesterly flow....
Debra Devaris, Good job using a completely unrelated, near death, event that has nothing to do with the windsurfing or the Event Site to spread your FEAR ...
My message to gorgewindsurfer@yahoogroups.com bounced cause I'm not subscribed to that list. Can someone forward my message along or email me her email...
Yep, bailed. The hole never opened up over eastern wash, the gradient dropped and I forgot that I'd left my wetsuit at my boat in anacortes over the weekend so...
I would disagree. There has been some great discussion about safety, particularly the use of helmets that has come from this post. Nobody wants to have a...
