I'm actually putting this ad up for a friend of mine who lives in Luray, VA - I know it isn't really Nokesville, but it isn't really that far. She lost her job and has been desperately trying to stay afloat and keep her animals for some time now and those attempts have finally come to an end. She has two horses, both mares, both in their late teens/early 20s and both good trail horses that she needs for find a home for. I know one of these mares very well and she is an amazing, laid back, well mannered mare that will do ANYTHING asked of her - she even self loads which I think is so cool. I don't know the other mare as well other than I know she has been ridden by kids and trail ridden. I know both horses have been around 4-wheelers, dogs, guns, etc. and I know they are kept in an electric fence. I haven't seen either horse in awhile, but my friend has been telling me that she has not been able to afford very good hay or a whole lot of it and they have been dropping weight. I know these were easy keepers on just pasture in the past. They do not have a negative coggins or vaccinations and probably need their teeth done - beyond that I really can't tell you what type of condition they are in, but if anyone is interested I know these were good horses and could be again with a little food - if I thought there was any chance I had enough room for them I would take them in a heartbeat, but I already have one more horse than stall and I have absolutely no pasture - I just can't take on two more.
