Well, I know that Majeed was not a good player during the period he
spent with Nejmeh. I know also that the team is not performing great
and i know that a team like Nejmeh needs a horrifiying attacker but i
am still optimistic.
Let's look at it from this point of view. First of all, al tawfic men
3end allah and every body saw that although Nejmeh wasn't performing
great in the elite cup and super cup but they won hamdullah so don't
loose hope.
second thing and the most important thing is that it is not any
useful to stay saying that if we have this we would have done that
BLA BLA BLA...we have to accept what we got and try to use it as much
as we can. Majeed was not well performing with Nejmeh but remember
that he is the best scorer in Lebanon! he was the best scorer with a
team like sahel where he used to make his own balls and generate his
chances because there is no good playmakers in sahel so he should be
able to score more and more in Nejmeh with the King moussa assists
and Gilberto's help etc...know we have to ask ourselves this
question. Why was he good in Sahel and bad with Nejmeh ??? there is
something wrong and i believe it is the fans again. So the fans have
now to understand that Majeed is our only player whether they like it
or not so we have to cheer to him even if he is not so good because
he's all what we got Plz Plz Plz don't treat the way bilal is treated
because we need him.
Last thing, I will never loose hope in any situation even without
foreigners because the Nejmeh guys are the best.
As I told you before bro, it's our yearly issue, each year they wait
till the end of the signing period and say that we have no time so we
have to sign this player, like what they did 2 years ago with
velox!!! It was better to save Majeed's money and give them as bonus
for the current players so they play better with $1000/player!!!
Anyways, hope our team the best:)

According to Nejmeh.com the deadline for new players signing has just
ended and majeed stayed the 2nd foreign player. The rumors about
majeed contract wasn't true.
Good Luck to Nejmeh but i'll tell u what our team isn't fully ready
we need to prepare a team for 2004 season we can't dream too high for
this coming season,im not expecting alot from our team but it's all
good we need to start from 0 i guess.

I'm glad with your feedback Sami...this is the idea behind this
group...so it makes me really happy that you like it. I hope you
invite as many people as you can to the group because the more it
grows the more we can improve it. I'm dreaming of 3000 members...can
we do it? I hope so!

I only gave him 6 because he only played for 20 minutes...didn't do
anything super special...but didn't commit any mistakes either..so 6
was a rating I thought would be acceptable. When I said good
performance I meant "not a bad performance" if you want..but at the
same time not an excellent one. Said spent most of last year injured
and that has hampered his development a little..I hope he can refind
his best form because he's a promising player.
Dear Walid,
I don't know you (i wish i do) coz i am about to cry after what i
read... I really miss being in a stadium in Lebanon... When i was
reading about your jumping, i was jumping. When i was reading about
you hugging strangers, i wished if i can hugg you...
Man !!!!! this is the best game report i have read in my life !
believe me i am not exagertaing ! i have read too many reports in
Lebanon and USA for Basket ball and football and everything ! none of
them is better than this one! Thank you very very very much !and
thanks for Khodor for inviting me to this wonderful group.
Congratulations for all Nejmawiyeh but i feel that the coach and
technical staff should work hard on the players. We can't have these
mistakes by Sakko and Mhammad in the League and we cannot always
count on the king to make up our mistakes.
Although i like Wahid too much! but i feel that he should be punished
from the club managers because he is not playing for his own name to
take his revenge... what he did is not acceptable.
I am glad about the action that Sakko did (appologizing). This proves
that he is a good guy, I hope that the fans didn't curse him and i
hope he will be better later on.
I have only one question. Since you said that Said made a cool
penalty and had a good performance, why can't you give him more than
6/10 ? because i remember that this guy was a great youngster in
Riyada 5 years ago so i would really love to inform about his
performance nowadays.

I've just returned back from the stadium and I'm so tired but this
game was so breathtaking I can't resist waiting till tomorrow to
write this match report. I know there are so many of you who want to
know everything about the game as soon as possible so here you go:
On the way to the stadium I was thinking to myself: " Our objective
should be not just to win but to win in style. One or two goals are
not enough, we have to beat them at least 3-0 to pay back our heavy
defeat in last year's cup game". Now that the game is over, I think
the way we won it was even better than 3-0 or 4-0. I honestly believe
I wouldn't be as happy with 4-0 as I am now. Why is that? You'll know
after you finish reading this match report.
We started the game with the following formation:
Wahid, M. Ibrahim, Sunday, M. Halawa, Sako, K. Hamiyye, Yehia Hachem,
Abbas Atwi, King Moussa, Bilal, Gilberto.
We started the game the better side and totally dominated
proceedings, especially in the first 15 minutes when Moussa and
Gilberto were on fire. After that the game cooled down a bit and
chances were rare and far between. We had much more possession than
they did and it was very clear from the beginning that Ansar's game
plan was to play deep and hit us on the counter attack. Unfortunately
for us Sako made a schoolboy error trying to go past Ahmad El Shoum
near the penalty area without being covered by any defender...he lost
possession and suddenly we found ourselves 0-1 down in the last
minute of the first half. It was so frustrating to sit down in
complete silence during the interval and having to listen to the
Ansar supporters' chants. Lucky idiots! (up till now :-) )
The second half started in the worst possible way for us. First we
conceded another silly goal after poor defending from almost every
Nejmeh defender. We were pushing for the equalizer and leaving too
much space for them to work in. And to make things worse, Wahid was
sent off 5 minutes later. He went out of his goal to clear a long
ball into touch from infront of Malek Hassoun...he cleared the ball
but Malek caught him with a late tackle...Wahid retaliated by kicking
Malek..Wahid got a red card and Malek a yellow one..I'm not gonna
start blaming Wahid but his behaviour was silly and unnecessary and
at that point shadows of the 0-4 defeat were starting to haunt us...
0-2 down, one man down, and 30 minutes to go...we certainly had a
huge mountain to climb...and climb we did!
How would a team return to such a game? can any team do it? certainly
not, because not every team has a football genius but we do...we have
Moussa..free kick on the edge of the penalty area..a brilliant left
footed shot from Moussa..and Ziad Samad can do nothing but pick the
ball from the back of the net...here the crowd exploded and from that
moment on nobody sat down again...10 minutes later a brilliant pass
from Gilberto puts Moussa through and the king pulls it back to
Fleifel who lunges on it and put it in the back of the empty net.
I really can't describe the scenes on the stands after that ... I was
jumping like a kid hugging strangers and singing my heart out...I've
never got so excited in a Nejmeh game for a long long time...this one
was so memorable...certainly a classic!
Extra time after that and long minutes of nail biting... our players
were so tired after the huge efforts they put on in the last 30
minutes to bring us back to level terms with 10 men only!
Again, a terrible mistake by Mohammad Ibrahim who tried to head the
ball back to Abdo Tafeh but his effort was so weak Abbas Saleh got
there first..went past Abdo..and had the empty net at his
mercy...shock! silence..we can't lose after all the efforts we put to
level the game..but after that goal I really thought we'd lost
it..our players were so tired...Gilberto had a cramp just before
their goal and had to be substituted by Said Abbouchi...by the way
our other substitutions in the game were Abdo for Yehia Hachem (after
Wahid's sending off) and Abbas Shahrour for Abbas Atwi.
But, with Moussa in the side...never say die! a long ball from Abbas
Shahrour was flicked by Bilal into the path of Moussa to put him one
on one with Ziad Samad...the king cooly controlled the ball and sent
his left footed shot low into the bottom
corner....boom...explosions...earthquake...unbelievable scenes...
before that goal though we really had to ride our luck in a couple of
occasions because our players were pushing forward in numbers and
leaving only Sunday back but there was no other way to get back to
the game...and as they say: Luck favors the brave!
On to penalties:
Moussa scored (great shot in the top cormner)
They scored (I don't give a shit who takes their penalties)
Sako missed (hit the post)
They missed (Malek Hassoun of all people!)
Halawa scored
They missed
Abbouchi scored
They scored
Abbas Shahrour scored
and we won it!!!
All in all a very memorable game...one to live in the memory for
ever..certainly better than any other result because we took the cup
right from under their noses...out of their throats!
Player ratings:
Wahid Fattal: 4/10 for childish behaviour..has to learn how to
control his nerves!
Sunday: 5/10 ... not his best game for us...looked uncertain at times
and wasn't his usual composed self. Can't be blamed much though
because he was left alone most of the time as our players pushed
forward and with us being one man down.
Mohammad Ibrahim: 5/10 I would have given him 7/10 hadn't he made the
blunder which lead to their 3rd goal.
Halawa: 6/10 Poor passing..too slow..terrible game (just like the
other defenders)..but at least didn't commit schoolboy errors like
the others.
Sako: 4/10 .. the worst game I've seen from him since he joined
us..directly responsible for their first goal and missed his
penalty...but defended well in extra time and saved us on a few
occasions... came to us after the game and apologized for his
performance..great attitude and a hardworking player..I'm sure it was
just a bad day for him.
Hamiyye: 6/10 steady performance but poor defensively today
Yehia Hachem: 6/10 he needs to grow muscles soon...other than that
has a very good footballing brain.
Abbas Atwi: 6/10 .. can do better.
Moussa Hjeij: Man of the Match... 10/10 ... almost single-handedly
won us the game...what can I say about Moussa ... Rouh Allh Yehmik
that's all I can say.
Gilberto: 8/10 ... very dangerous striker.. will play a big role for
us this season..needs to improve his fitness because he joined us
late and his fitness levels are still not like the others.
Bilal: 7/10 ... typical Bilal performance...typical Bilal goal.
Subs:
Abdo: 8/10 ... should be our number one from now on.
Abbas Shahrour: 8/10 ... was influential after he came on...used his
pace to good effect to start our attacks.
Abbouchi: 6/10 ... cool penalty...good performance.
Cheers,
Oh I almost forgot...Errol wasn't in the stadium but he's expected to
arrive in Beirut tomorrow...hopefully!
I'm so tired I really need to sleep...good night all!
Walid
Nejmeh defeated Ansar in penalty shoot outs!!
Mabrooooooooooook to all nejmeh fans. Please come back later for a
FULL FULL eye witness match report. You won't find our match reports
anywhere else (it's an eye witness reports)!!!!
Go Nejmeh!!!!!
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL, he Does have a big imagination!!! Anyways some
people like to dream too much, bro.Btw we all waiting for your match
report and plz give us brief report and thank you for all your
effort, walid.Insha'Allah nejmeh well win today!!
Go Nejmeh
Ok...let's keep Mageed then!
Seriously though Errol seems the best option at the moment. He did
express his desire to come back earlier but our management didn't
want him initially so they put him on hold to see if they can get a
better player. When they failed to find a foreign player who is up to
standards (after trying out more than 10 players) they decided to
call Errol back.
I was in training yesterday and Hajj Ahmad Fleifel (board member)
told fans that Errol should arrive in Beirut today morning, so by
this time he should have arrived. He is expected to watch the Ansar
game from the stands. I'll tell you in my match report if Errol was
in the stadium today.
Moreover, I met Wahid in person and asked him about the rumours
regarding his transfer to Tadamon and he said :" Tadamon Who??"
(for those who don't know there's a guy who calls himself future boss
on lebanese-football forums and he has a very vivid imagination so
every week he comes up with a new transfer rumour. In case you read
his postings don't believe any of it).
According to Youssef Dabbous, Shoot's Chief editor whom I also met in
training yesterday, Errol was playing regular first team football in
Trinidad for a team owned by his father so it wasn't very difficult
for him to free himself from his commitments with that team. Good
news for us...at least we know his match fitness is OK.
Cheers,
Walid

Im tired of Errol, man. He ain't nothing look how much nejmeh
management don't trust him. He's a joker he just like to play games.I
say screw him and let his sorry a$$ stay in his small a$$ island
country because lebanon and Nejmeh are too much for him.
I'll say sign anyone else but him.
Go Nejmeh!!!
According to Shoot magazine, the next few hours will be decisive as
to whether Errol will come back. The magazine have called Errol and
the following conversation happened:
Shoot: Are u coming back?
Errol: Saad El Deen Itani has called me and asked me to return.
Shoot: Do you know that thr transfer deadline is Wednesday night?
Errol: Yes, and if you call me in an hour I'll give you the arrival
time of my plane to Beirut.
Shoot: So you're sure 100% you're coming?
Errol: Yes, it seems so.
After that Shoot called Saad El Deen Itani to see what he's got and
he said: "Errol has a visa and an air ticket but I won't believe he's
coming until he's actually here."
An hour later Shoot called Errol only to hear his answering machine
time and time again. Later they discovered that Errol wants to come
back but he has to convince his current club in Trinidad to let him
go (They didn't mention how they knew that), and they concluded that
this means that the chances of Errol's return are slim.
They also mentioned that if Errol didn't make it Nejmeh might sign a
Nigerian player called Mohammad Mohammad. He plays for Mahalla in
Egypt and his coach there was ex-Nejmeh coach Zizo. Another
alternative is Jordanian player Badran Al Shaqran who trained with
Nejmeh before.
Regards,
Walid
It's the derby match again with all it's passion & rivarly. This time
there's a trophy at stake and that will add more excitment to the
contest.
The last (and only) time we won the super cup was in 2000 when we
beat Sahel 2-0 thanks to gaoals from Said Abouchi (who was playing
his first game for us at the time) and King Moussa. The players will
be looking to add another trophy to our silverware cabinet next
Tuesday.
The fixture couldn't have come at a worst timing for us following the
resignation of club president Omar Ghandour but the players are
detrmined to put on a great performance against an Ansar side that
gave us all sorts of problems in the Elite Cup semi final before we
eventually beat them by penalties. Abbas Atwi, Hasan Husseini, Yehia
Hachem, Sarkis Abajian, and Gilberto Dos Santos - all missing from
the last derby game - are available for selection this time and that
should give the coach more options to choose from.
Mahmoud Mageed will probably not play after he missed Saturday's
training session and could have already played his last game for the
club against Ahed in the Elite Cup final. Gilberto is expected to
play his first game for us partnering Bilal up front and it would be
a huge chance for him to win the hearts of Nejmeh fans right from the
beginning of the season.
Wahid Fattal's performances in the Elite Cup mean that the coach has
a selection dilemma in the goalkeeper's position now that Abdo Tafeh
is back from international duty.
Expected line-up:
Wahid (or Abdo) in goal.
Sunday, Husseini (or Shahrour), and Ibrahim in defence.
Sako as a left wing-back.
Hamiyyeh as a right wing-back.
Halawa and Atwi in the center of midfield.
King Moussa behind the front two.
Bilal and Gilberto up front.
On the bench: Yehya Hachem, Ali Asaad, Hussein Daher, Dokmak, Abdo
(or Wahid), Abbas Shahrour (or Husseini), Shaheen.
The above line-up is only an expected line up based on previous games
and my personal experience so it might witness one or two changes on
Tuesday.
Don't forget to log on for an eye witness match report within 48
hours from the final whistle.
Cheers,
Walid

That might prove to be the catalyst he needs to build up his
confidence and encourage him to try and improve his all-round game
and develop himself. But I just can't see it happening...I don't know
why but the fans never sing Bilal's name whatever he achieves. I'll
give you an example:
Usually when a player has an excellent game his coach substitutes him
in the last minute or so to let him receive a standing ovation from
the crowd. It happens all over the world and it's intended to boost
player morale. Our coach did that in the Tadamon game and substituted
Bilal in the last minute to let the crowd give him the standing
ovation he deserved for his hatrick. What did the crowd do?
Nothing!! absolutely nothing! Just because it's Bilal they didn't
even bother to clap.
Again, Bilal is not a super star...no Lebanese player is (except Abou
El Mouss)... in fact in some games Bilal playes like a shadow of a
player (ex: last Ansar game)... don't cheer for him in such games
(and don't boo him either) but when he plays well it's only fair to
give him all the support he deserves.
Cheers,
Walid
All i can say you are %2000 right!!!
Bilal is the best we have and the team's hardest working player so
why the silly actions against him? can anyone tell me why?
Go Bilal and don't listen to these few morons in the stadium.
Well thanks for the author of this article because this subject about
bilal fleifel is a very crucial and a lot of points need to be
clarified about it.
first of all we all know that bilal fleifel is not ronaldo and his
abilities are somehow limited but in the other hand he is doing a lot
of great job and being the top scorer in a lot of tournaments because
although he doesn't have extraordinary skills, he is working very
very hard and he has an extreme love and loyality for the shirt he
wears.
second thing, we all know that even if he is not doing fine... he is
the best we got. i mean there is no better player on the bench, so
when the fans in the stadium are shouting tla3 barra ya bilal ennou
what is going to happen ? who will play instead of him. ennou if we
had a better player, the coach will have used his efforts. The
problem in Nejmeh fans is that although they are the main resource of
the club and the best fans in lebanon and the neighbourhood countries
but they are also the reason of many coaches to leave the club
because they have been cursed by the fans and this is unacceptable.
I know that bilal will not leave because nejmeh flows in his blood
but he may get sick of it sometimes. The best thing the nejmeh fans
can do is to start every game by singing his name to give him some
push up because i swear that nejmeh has never got a player who is so
loyal for his team.
Mahmoud Mageed didn't train with the team today. The player's
performances in recent matches have been below par and it was quite
obvious he didn't live up to the expectations of Nejmeh fans and
coaching staff. His absence from training today could be a sign that
the rumours about Errol's return are true. Let's wait and see!
This week's training sessions have witnessed the birth of a deadly
attacking weapon for us ... Gilberto Dos Santos. The newly signed
Libanese-Brazilian player has been in brilliant form in training this
week and he's already developed a telepathic understanding with
Moussa Hjeij. With the expected arrival of Errol McFarlane on Monday,
it seems our strike force this season will strike fear into opponents
and terrorize defenders all over the country!
According to an insider, Errol McFarlane will arrive in Beirut on
Monday to sign a new contract with Nejmeh.
Again, no official confirmation or denial of the news has been
announced by the club.
Watch this space for more updates as soon as they become available to
us.
Rumours circulating around the training ground in Manara today say
that Errol will be back as our second foreign player next year after
the 2 new trialists failed to impress. It remains to be seen whether
the management will end Mageed's contract, but if the rumours are to
be believed, Errol will arrive in Lebanon next week and could feature
in the super cup game against Ansar. No official sources from the
club have confirmed or denied the news yet. Watch this space for any
developments regarding this issue.
Cheers,
Walid
I totally agree with you!!! You are %100 right. I don't know why this
hate and silly chanting against him i just don't know. He's the team
score leader and they still want more from him.Errol? O PLZ he was
just there on the field trying to look cool so the fans give him more
attention.
Go Bilal you are our #1 scorer
The negative treatment Bilal Fleifel receives from Nejmeh fans is
something that I find unjustifiable and unfair. For example, the fans
never bother to chant his name when he scores a hatrick (Tadamon Sour
match) but when he misses a chance (believe me it doesn't take more
than one chance) the crowd gets on his back. Chants of "Tla3 barra ya
Bilal" were heard in the Elite Cup final against Ahed right after
Bilal had missed a chance and just before he scored the equalizing
goal. It was only natural for him to turn his back on us and
celebrate his goal infront of the bench rather than running in our
direction like all the others do.
Bilal is technically limited. We all know that and I'm sure that he
knows it as well and that he wouldn't be shy to admit it, but that
doesn't mean he's not a good player...and above all, that doesn't
mean he's OUR player.
If Bilal's lack of technique is your reason for hating him, then here
are a few reasons for you to support him:
1) He's a Nejmeh player. As long as someone wears the legendary red
of Nejmeh then no fan is entitled to curse him. Hate him as much as
you want but DON'T boo him during games. It's simply unacceptable!
As far as I'm concerned, reason 1 is sufficient enough, but for those
who need more reasons here you go:
2) His commitment and workrate are second to none. The guy would kill
himself for us...he's a real fighter during games and he never
hesitates to tackle an opponent and win the ball back. If ex-crowd
favorite Errol McFarlane had half of Bilal's commitment I'm sure we
wouldn't have had to wait for the final whistle of the final game of
the season to be confirmed champions, and I'm sure Mahmoud Magid
wouldn't have been the golden-shoe winner last year. Commitment and
desire are as important as ball control and technique so we should
learn how to appreciate these qualities.
3) He's the best header of the ball in Lebanon. A real predator in
front of goal. I know he can't hold the ball under pressure and bring
others into play but when it comes to putting the ball in the back of
the net there aren't many who are better than him.
4) He was our top scorer last year and he's topscorer so far this
season (1 in Asian Cup and 4 in Elite Cup).
To sum it up, let's learn how to give credit were credit is due and
to limit our criticism of Nejmeh players to our private discussions
instead of expressing it in the stadium. I have criticized Bilal as
much as I've praised him in this post, but would I boo him in the
stadium? Never.
Cheers,
Walid

The group has been established less than 24 hours ago and we already
have 8 members! That's very encouraging news indeed. We hope to start
receiving your ideas and suggestions soon because we want this group
to be a place where we can all benefit and enjoy our time.
The season ahead promises to be a very competitive one and I'm sure

internal in the shape of the recent resignation of Hajj Omar Ghandour
or external in the shape of Olympic Beirut and all the hype
surrounding that team.
As you already know, this group will provide u with eye witness match
reports written by fans who attend Nejmeh games live. You'll be
surprised by the quality of these reports...so don't forget to log on
48 hours after the end of each game and read a full analysis of how
the game was played and check player ratings to see how each of our
players performed. The first match report will be online 48 hours
(maybe earlier) after the Super Cup match against Ansar.
We want your ideas and suggestions on how to improve the group so
please don't hesitate to post anything that crosses your mind
regarding this issue.
Cheers my friends...the only way for us is forward.
