forgot about this pic Geo. Thanks for adding it to your site
from one gearhead to another....Welcome! feel free to ask questions
anytime. we're (NEMPRA, L.H.R. Ent) working to get an event going out
in NY but if you can make it to NH we will be having a couple of
events up there this year. Our team Bay State Harley Pullers will be
at the Harley Rendezvous in Pattersonville, NY this year pulling in
another series. That's always a good time!

Here is a link to the photo section. We have posted a few pictures of
our current pulling sled called "The Lead Sled".
We are planning to have a new and improved one built for the 2005
season.

Geo, Some do run the 31" cepeks but they run them on wider rims . This lowers the overall height so that they fall into the maxium allowed. As for the hitch height it is measured off the front axel for the solo class and on the trikes it cant be any higher than 15" off the ground. I hope this helps clarify some of your questions .

David, Thanks for your reply...and Happy New Year to all !!! Our
group runs a 13" hitch height as well as the other clubs in the state
and we allow the hook point to be no further to the rear than a line
across the rearmost edge of the tires,,we also pull 200' on all
tracks. I'll get back to you on our group (WNYGTPAI) allowing you
folks to pull with us, I hope it comes to fruition (so far, so good),

make it worthwhile coming that distance. Would love to see this take

pullers) but they haven't intermingled with 4 wheel pullers yet that
I know of, I'll look into it. We have motorcycle powered pullers but
no motorcycle pullers as of YET, lol. Also glad to see Gary and his
club interested in having you guys pull with them also. I love to see
folks who love pulling so much that they have dedicated pulling
vehicles (hey, it's habit forming,,,ahhhuuuhhh). As this club only
has 7 members so far we need to spread the links to broaden awareness
among other pullers. I'll do what I can to help get the show on the
road but like everything else it takes a team effort. Thanks...Geo

I heard that this place may have had pullers but not sure, anyway it
might be a great place to introduce it in this area. Our club has
also participated at Bucks Motorsports in early Oct. with the
snowmobile/atv grass drags Nationals, possibilities are around. It's
nice to mix with motorsports of different flavors, I think all
benefit as we're all gearheads at heart.....Geo

sorry to get off topic, but how 'bout a single wheeled
puller,,,,,,anyone ??? LOL. I seen "Sidecar Willie" was injured at
the last race shown on t.v., hope he's doing well. Imagine a bike
show with the different things you can do in the dirt at the same
place (drags, pulls, rodeo, hill climbs ???, whatever) Geo
Geo,
In the little time we have been promoting the sport in this area it
seems as though it's really taking off.
As far as your questions. I'll have to look at the rule book as far
as the maximum diameter. We made a type on the website.
we measure the hitch height from the ground up. It's no more than 15"
from the ground... hitch distance from center of rear axle is no more
than 15".
All the competitors have different riding styles. Some like to stand
as they feel they have more control over the bike. However it depends
on how you set your bike up and distribute the weight. I have a sit
down riding style and that is the way my trike is set up.
Will have to check on the videos to see if there are any problems.
The last question you had was if any of these bikes are dual use. We
only have one rider that if she wanted could change hers back into a
street bike. It really depends on how serious you get into it etc.
Hope this answered some of your questions....

Gary we may be interested. We have produced a couple of events with a
tractor pulling club in CT. similar idea we joined the club to be
covered under their ins policy. Is this a members only event or do
you have spectators pay to come and watch the event? What we did with
the other pulling club is split the cost of the track rental etc and
than share in the gate fee at the end of the event. We both worked on
advertising for the event on the web
and through mailings etc. We also had some vendors come in etc.
still a possibility if it's expo only. We are a team but NEMPRA and
the other company we have started is L.H.R. Entertainment. We
produced our first full season of events last year. It went pretty
well. We have our own sled but using yours would definitely save us
as far as traveling out there....Let's see what we can do to play in
the dirt together....

David, this is Gary from the BFGTP, we will be having a pull in
Clinton Corners, NY (East Side of the river) at the end of April, not
sure of the date. This is a nonpoints pull for our club and we are
putting it on for a member of our club to help him out. I am the VP
of the club (ugh) and maybe sticking my nose out but someone has to
take charge. Your pullers are welcome to come and pull Expo with us,
we haven't a class for your type of pullers yet, there are a few
pullers from CT. that show up that don't fit but we find a place for
them to pull. You would have to follow all of our saftey rules plus

Hi David, the LawnTecs have only been out a year or two now and are
becoming a hot item in the NQS pulling series and elsewheres (seems
like I seen a tally list of winners running each tire but can't
recall yet where it was). They are quite similar to the Dick Cepeks
with wrinkle walls (2 ply sidewalls) with exception of 2 or 3 fewer
lugs/chevrons and possibly a different rubber compound (not sure). I
believe this tire was designed for pullers with a higher wheel speed.
I run both the Cepek II's (26&31"), have a couple prs. of Cepek
I's "big bar" 31"ers that I haven't tried yet and have used both
styles of Temco PitBulls (I - 26" only & II's - 26x12x12 and
34x18x15) prefering the PitBull II's over the Cepeks, also have used
the Temco 31" bar style lugs (cut)- not as wide of a footprint and
great for lower horsepower setups. The PitBulls have two ply
sidewalls, a harder rubber compound and are slightly taller, have a
>> staggered chevron design that I like, a square shoulder on the I's
(chevron bars which I recommend be cut to use) and a little more
rounded shoulder on the II's (but more aggressive than Cepeks)- tire
looks more like the Cepek design. It's harder finding distributors
for the Temco PitBulls but some carry multiple brands. The Temcos
(all) also hold air better, constantly have to check tire pressures
with the 26" Cepeks. I have no personal experiance yet with the
LawnTecs and plan to try a pair in the future. I'll put a couple
photos of the PitBull II's in the file section, might have photos of
the others too. Glen Federico of our club (WNYGTPA) sells the Temcos,
gotta look up his addy. Geo

great price on the Lawntec tires. Most everyone in motorcycle pulling
uses the Cepeks. For anyone who has used the Cepeks and the Lawntec
tires.... Do you notice any difference?

Hi David, I like your green machine, looks like a lot of fun to pull
with and bet it sounds great too !!! We have bikers all over the
place up here in Western New York, I bet this sport would be real
popular once it gets a foothold and exposure. One of the things I
like about these pullers is a range of tire choices available
including dual tires and even using aggressive ATV tires, it'd be
interesting to observe how each combination works. The rules state a
maximum of 30" diameter but it appears that some are running
31x15.5x15" tires, is the rule book in error as those Dick Cepeks
they are running or other "pro" tires are not available in a smaller
15" rim size to my knowledge. In 4 wheel pulling most classes are
regulated by tire size so it's nice to see an open rule. Also another
rule that seems curious is the drawbar hookpoint height is determined
by the FRONT ??? axle centerline and not the REAR axle c/l, is that
right and if so why so, Thanks for clarifying. It also appears that
you guys stand rather than sit so as to more effectively distribute
your weight by body steering,,yes ?? I couldn't get any of the videos
to play on my 'puter (it would partly upload and then keep repeating
never finishing, might be something wrong with my setup, not sure).
One other question, are some of these bikes dual use or are most
dedicated pulling machines ?? Thanks again for any input. Geo

Hi David, Yahoo member #2 here, lol, Good Luck to your group, it
sounds wild !!! The wife and I pull Pro Stock G.T.'s and
SuperModified MiniRods with Western New York Garden Tractor Pullers.
Our sled is an excellant compact design that handles everything well
from single cylinder garden tractors to 1800lb. V8 MiniRods and even
some larger farm tractors. Seeing as you guys run 1000 lb.ders it'd
work great with your Motorcycle pullers too !! For ideas, check out
the photos (need updating) of our self propelled "Dirt Track
Cadillac" in the first photo album also see our links section also
