Re: [NEDRA] Three-Wheelers at NEDRA Events

Glad I did not remove the sparrows for the Production  and modified production classes, but we may still need to do this. Guess we can still take 3 wheel records in the Production and modified production classes, As long as the wheel base is over 90" or the vehicle is slower than 50 mph. Do we need to make a new trike class or just place them in these Production classes?? Brian

Hi all,

In accordance with rules of the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA),
the National Electric Drag Racing Association, (NEDRA) will no longer
permit three-wheeled vehicles to compete at NEDRA sanctioned events
and to compete for NEDRA Records.

This includes two-wheel front, one wheel rear; one-wheel front, two-
wheel rear, in-line configurations; motorcycles with sidecars and
leaning three-wheelers.

This is a disappointment for those of us who have drag raced Sparrows
in the past but the NHRA has safety concerns for these vehicles and
NEDRA must comply with all NHRA rules.

We will update the website in accordance with this ruling.

Hi Brian, I just spoke with FT who pretty much said the same thing he said to Roy. I agree, we probably should set up a three-wheeler or trike class. The...

... I just called FT to double-check this, and... as I thought, it is 40" to 90" wheelbase that is speed limited to 50mph. 90" and above OEM three-wheelers (if...

I'm not sure if we should do a separate class or not, there are a lot of unfairness in the production class. any OEM product can run in that class, motorcycles...
