Re: NEDRA elections

Rod,

I was very honored to receive the Rannberg Award this year. I would
agree with you that John, ( as well as a few other foks ) is well
deserving of this award as well. I disagree that my contributions to
the sport pale in comparison to his or those of anybody else for
that matter. It has been a wonderful year of EV drag racing here at
Lawless Industries.

To Recap a few highlights:

Six new NEDRA motorcycle records
The quickest 1/4 mile ET of any electric car in the world at 10.26 @
130 MPH.
Participation at two different NEDRA sanctioned events with 3
different ev's at one and two at another.
Competition in four different states ( Ohio, Florida, Tennessee, &
Maryland), with three different vehicles, in ten different NEDRA
classes.
Filming of three national television events with two different
vehicles.
Production of the most powerful electric dragster ever with over
1500 HP.
Sponsorship of NEDRA events.

One more tidbit. I financed all of the above out of my own pocket
with money earned building EV's such as cars, motorcycles, lawn
mowers, parade floats, AGV's, industrial transports, people movers,
etc....

Exactly what does that pale against?

BTW, The year isn't over yet................

Shawn Lawless

also? Come on this is one of the most silliest statements you have
made to date. You have gone way beyond reality on this one. I do not
mind signing a statement that I will abide by the rules of NEDRA and
the Board of Directors of NEDRA and that I will behave in a
sportsman like manner and not try to discredit fellow competitors
records in case I can not compete with them on a fair playing field.
I would sign anything similar for the NEDRA archives.

a fellow founding member who I personally believe plays fairly. He
has done nothing to deserve this kind of crap. He has done more in
the last year to promote the sport of electric drag racing than any
single human on this planet. It is a sad thing that he did not
receive the Rannberg Award as he deserved it more than anyone. Shawn
did do a lot this year but his accomplishments pale in comparison to
John's

there is an official announcement to the NEDRA membership that
nominations are now open for elected members. It should specify
which positions are open and the term of office. This announcement
also needs to include the ending date for when the nomination
process will be closed.
