RE: [NEDRA] Pid for a heater control?

Make sure the SSR does not come with an added feature of failing ON  ;-)

Has anyone tried using an industrial PID and SSR relay as a controller for an electric heater? Ebay has boat loads of em between $30 and $200.

I'm thinking about trying it. I'm using a hot water heater element in a fabricated stainless tank and small pump to circulate the hot water through a normal heater radiator (not a ceramic heater and fan). Looks simple enough and I think a PID would work with either style of heating arrangement. Any thoughts, additional ideas?

Beautiful! That's what I was looking for. I'm not one to try to reinvent the wheel so others experience is worth a lot to me. So the PID worked well but the...
