Breaking in Rear Gear Set

John,  (if you're still reading) or anyone more knowledgable than John, (or less knowledgable if you can answer my question)  (I'm not picky, as long as the info is good)  :-)

So the Dutchman recommends 500 mile break-in on the new gear set in the HD SS rear end I just received.  Tell me true,  did you put a full break-in on your last set of gears.  They claim to be able to tell if you high power it before fully setting in the gears.  If I drive the Pinto to work EVery day it'll take me a month to break in the rear end.  I could probably do it in two weeks if I go out every night after a charge and the kids go to bed.  I'm planning on using 144v worth of those Deka's that were in my truck to run in the Pinto for break in.  No use beating up a nice new set of race batteries for break in duty.
