Re: [NEDRA] World Record Electric Barstool Run Video

Hi David,

Thanks so very much for posting this. Here is a link to another video of the same barstool for those interested. http://www.suckamps.com/images/build_team_vehicles/BarStoolTesting.mov We at EV Parts have sponsored Rob Spencer's bar stool for several years now. I do feel a bit guilty about not blowing his horn about his new world record. I've been very busy, but I guess that is no excuse. This bar stool goes much faster on pavement due to lower rolling resistance than on the salt. It runs a 671 Gimmie diesel 12 volt starter with a six volt armature, or at least it did in the video link I just posted. It also runs a high amp specially built Curtis controller and a single 12 volt group 31 Optima. The rules state that you can only run 12 volts so over fifty mph on 12 volts id quite an accomplishment and higher speeds than that on the pavement as I mentioned.

I was lucky enough to be at the right place at the right time to video the historic Salt Flats run of 51 mph (for a 2 way average of 49.972 mph!). Enjoy!

Glad you liked it. They had a problem with the controller, so Robb just ran it with an on/off switch. He didn't hit the switch until his pusher got him to...
