We have confirmed and received support from the directors for all four races on our schedule.  The details still need to be worked out with Hammerfest and the Boston Triathlon.  I looks as if we are going to get a discount at both races.  And when we get enough collegiate athletes we will have our own collegiate race in both of them.

To list the season again:
#1 (9/3/06)  Boston Tri- MA - Sprint (season warmup)
#2 (9/10/06) Finger Lakes - NY - Olympic
#3 (9/17/06) HammerFest - CT - Sprint
#4 (9/23/06) Colby tri - ME - Sprint (conference championship)

#5 (4/21/07) Tuscaloosa - AL - Olympic (national championship)

Since we are still working out the details for Boston Triathlon, Finger Lakes, and Hammerfest, I will sent out an updated email once I know the process for each one.

Colby triathlon is all set and everybody can sign up for that one.  At the end they ask which team that you are on.  Make sure you fill that in so we can organize the scoring for each team.  Also they have a hotel on the list that is offering discounts.  The information is on the website,  www.colby.edu/triathlon.

Fingerlakes
1) Accommodations... many hotels/motels in their list are already sold out, but we have three options, all of which offer some discounts. I will post the list to our mailing list later. (Hopefully tonight.)
 2) Entry Fees... it is agreed that they offer a "pre-race" rate for us until the race day, which is $65 for an olympic distance.
 3) Train for Treatment (team)... this is another option that we can race cheaper (if not free). I'm still working on this, but for example they set up a site like this for your team:
And for each $300 your team make, one team member can enter the race for free. Teams can make as much as they can until the race day (I think) and pay the pre-race rate for the rest.
 4) Yet another offer I got was a pre-race dinner. One of the local motels has a dining hall and is offering a carbo-dinner party with a flat-rate for a group. It could be a good idea if we knew how many schools are coming...
If you have not done so, make sure that your team is registered as a USAT club team.  http://www.usatriathlon.org/Clubs_Regions/clubs_registering.htm

If you have not registered your team yet, all teams need to be registered as a USAT club:

I suggest that everybody on your team has a USAT license. You can get They say it takes less than two minutes to sign up online and you get your USAT number immediately, https://www.usatmembership.com/default.aspx.

An important item: can every team fill out the form that is attached bellow?  The USAT # is not necessary but will be helpful.  I would like a copy of this form soon so I can get an idea of what teams will be competing and how many members are on each team.

The second attachment is is for advertisement of the season, including the points system and eligibility.

Thank you and I am looking forward to seeing everybody at the races this year.
