Hi All!
A few weeks back I emailed the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic schools the
consitute the NorthEast region for a USA Triathlon committee called the
Collegiate Commission. We were hoping to close the nominations process by
early July and hold elections thereafter. However, as of now, we have
received no nominations for the position. I have re-attached a nomination
form and a description of the Board. Please pass this on to your club
members (especially Sophmore and Freshman leaders). While there is some work
to the position, the Commission has been recently given a budget that pays
for members to travel to Nationals and other perks. This is a position that
looks good on the resume (National Committee) and gets your foot in the door
with the National triathlon scene. Most importantly, you have a chance to
try and make a change so that the debacle of this year's Nationals (and the
fact that the race is NEVER on the East Coast) does not happen again. We
need your help so please get back to me with possible nominations ASAP.
Thank you very much!
Sincerely,
Mark Stoutenberg
President, University of Miami TriCanes
P.S. - So far I have received email confirmations from UVA, Vermont, Brown,
Syracuse and NYU. Please email me with club and officer information for a
larger database for the future. Thanks!
