Hi all,
I hope you are having good winter training, preparing for the
coming-up Nationals and the NECTC season that follows it. I have a
couple of ideas that I would like to share with you and have feedback
from you all.
1. FALL RACE SCHEDULE:
I propose the following races for our fall season.
1) Aug. 24 Cranberry County (MA)
2) Sep. 13 Lobsterman (ME)
3) Sep. 21 Finger Lakes (NY)
4) Oct. 4 Mightyman Sprint - Regional Championships (NY)
I think 1), 2), and 4) are no-brainers. The races are very well
organized and the race organizers are very supportive.
3) is a bit far from many schools. But for Syracuse (and a few other
schools in our area), all the races are 6+ hours drive distance, so I
would like to include it. I think the race is well-organized and the
venue is great, worth travelling. I hope other schools will be
interested in doing this race, but I would love to hear oinions and
alternative ideas from other schools.
2. SUMMER RACES
In addition, I think we can have a couple of summer races, if there's
enougth interests. Let me know if you know any good races in the
region during the summer, or any races that you or your school will
participate.
* If there's not enough interest, we won't do it, so let me how you think.
I have a couple of races in my mind:
1) Jun. 30 Shipbuilders Triathlon (Bath, ME)
This is a olympic distance triathlon, organized by the same race
organizer of the Lobsterman, so we can assume the race will be
organized.

2) Aug. 10, Cazenovia Triathlon (Cazenovia, NY)
This is a race organized by a local triathlon club in Syracuse so I'm
sure we can get discount as a collegaite and a separate wave start.
There are intermediate and sprint distances. The problem of this race
is travel. I think pretty much everyone has to travel for this race.
(Even SU people are not in town during the summer.) They let athletes
to use the dorm rooms of the near-by Cazenovia College, so
accommodation is cheap (~$40).

Again, let me know how you guys think.
