Re: [NECTC] A top priority voting for collegiate national championship next year (every team needs to put in a vote)
The vote for UVMs Triathlon Team is for moving the date to the
fall. Having nationals in the middle of finals was the reason our team
had no representation at nationals this year, despite training harder
this winter then ever previously. Late September to early October
seems to be the favored dates. I have included some responses from the
UVM team to the email I forwarded out.
Sincerely,
Kathy
So Personally, I like the sound of having the race in the fall maybe
the second weekend in October or the first would be nice, then we
would all traing and racing! towards it all fall. I mean it is kind of
a bumber that there aren't many races in the spring but we do live in
New England and Championships is usually someplace that is still warm
enough for a traithlon in October so I say we tell them that. What
does everyone else think??
-Shannon
I agree completely. I feel it would be ideal to have the championship
in mid-October because it follows logically to have it at the
conclusion of our race season and not 6 months after it (I cannot
think of any other sport that does so). I realize that such a time
may not work for other regions, but seeing as we probably have the
shortest season it might be more feasible for it to be a bit later.
Personally I have no problem with that as long as it's not too late.
-Dan
I'd rather have it in the fall since there's a lot less
going on and it makes more sense to be in peak shape then.
-Mike
I think a early-mid September race date is ideal for collegiate
triathlon.
