Running without a bib (not paying to enter), is called running as a
bandit. It happens, but is considered stealing or cheating by some.
The reason why is that the entry fees pay for the support on the
course. So if your friends take anything from the aid stations, they
didn't pay for it. Also, even if they don't, the fees paid for the
course support, and the police protection. That aside, if they do run
as bandits, they could be pulled from the course. Also, I assume you
know that they won't get an official time. And I don't think I would
run through the finish chute.

Hi, i was just wondering if anyone had any experience running a marathon without a bib. I know the rules say you can't but I'm sure people must run without it....
