very cool, thanks.

I was flipping thru the channels sat and I stumbled upon the mavs
playing the 76ers'. It was a good game, dallas won, and I enjoyed
getting to see it. I missed all of the 1st Qtr and the start of the
2nd.

You are right...Mark Cuban's story is amazing!  They could make a movie out of his life.  It seems fitting that he owns a sports team and his philosophy is probably what makes Dallas such a great team!  Thanks for telling me to check it out!

I agree that the Mavs do indeed need to work on their defense.

I watched them play the lakers. I saw them quit doing what had been
working and the lakers came back and won. wish they'd continue doing
what works as opposed to trying to do something to just hold back
opponents. i dont think many games of any sport are won that way.

I dont know all the ins and outs of the game. so i could be wrong.
But i believe that a low post game is where the players are active
directly under the basket. which seems to fitr dirk. he prefers to
play the perimeter. but still he manages 10 rebounds a game.
amazing!!!

I believe that this is the 2nd year avery johnson has played with the
mavs. i am certain it is no longer than that.

sure is nice to talk about the mavs
albert

ps, have you looked up mark cuban's story on the net. it is about too
good to be true. its worth your read, it impressed me anyways. letme
know what you think-

are amazing with the 3 point shots, but they will play really well on
both offense and defense and then just slip on the defense (like
against Lakers)...the fourth quarter was like they had given up
almost. I would like to hear more about Mark Cuban's background...I
don't know anything about him really. They are a really awesome team
this year! How long has Avery been with the Mavs? I know he used to
be with the Spurs...my brother went to a David Robinson basketball
camp and Avery was one of the instructors. What does low-post game
mean? I read an article and it said Nowitzki needs to work on his
low-post game.

I see the development of their dirk nowitzki as their way to becoming
an nba powehouse. He has alot of skills yet to be polished. Nash is
finally free of injury, finley has been good for years.

then they added van exel and lafrentz. wow!! they have alot of muscle
in the nba now.

plus, look up the story of Mark Cuban. the owner of that team. I find
his story and how he got to be where he is just as good as the team!!!

thanks for replying

I give credit to Mark Cuban. He made alot of money and bought a NBA
team. Who would have thought he'd have the skills to pull a
consistently bad team up to the point where they are legitimate
contenders.

Steve Nash, Dirk Nowitzki, Michael Finley, are the 3 main stars. Then
they bring in Lafrentz (sp?) and Nick Van Exel.

Dirk is among the top 10 players in the league. If not the top 5 in
my opinion. Nash appears to be getting better as a point guard. He is
finally without injuries. Finley has been good for many years now.

I like that a new owner comes in, puts his money where his mouth is.
Then just sits back and lets the team (players and coaches) work on
getting better.

Has Cuban been fined yet this year? He had been getting fined so
often last year. I read that he is claiming that his complaints from
last season has lead to better officiating this season.

Glad to have found this group. I get to express my new found interest
in the Dallas Mavericks with a group of like minded persons.

Merry Christmas
al

I think they are this good. But are they good enough
to beat the Spurs, Lakers, and the Kings in the
playoffs? With home court advantage , I think they
can beat all three straight up. But remember it is a
long season, Dirk, Finley, or Nash turn an ankle and
this season changes.

I am really confused with what the Mavericks are doing right now.
They really need to kick it in gear. They all seem to be saying that
but it is not showing on the court? The bench is just Awe full and
the starters well.... We need to see some changes and quick, or I
think they are going to need to help the bench.

Hey all -- I just found www.allstarweek.com. They seem to be advertising
all the events during the game in February. Even if you are NOT in DC, the
site is pretty hot. Check it out...
