The little Charter 2000 Pug in .44 Special? If so, yeah I’ve seen one in stainless. Seemed to be a pretty nice little gun especially for the money! --- On Wed, 8/19/09, 2guntom <twoguntom2007@...> wrote:

Understood.
Thinking along those same lines, I was looking at the convertible. It has the same size as the Magnum, but also has a cylinder chambered for LR. I might have to order one for the shop so I can compare it to the others.
I was able to acquire the "Pug". Have you seen one of those yet?

I too have heard the stories and seen the ballistics charts to prove what you said is true about the .22LR nearly matching the .22Mag in these little revolvers. My main reason for preferring the Mag is purely ergonomics! It just fits better!! I've had both and sold the LR version for the simple fact was it was just too small for me! I like things with a little more size to carry. You know, like a Ruger Alaskan!! LOL --- On Tue, 8/18/09, 2guntom <twoguntom2007@...> wrote:

I was talking to a guy today about the NAA mini revolvers. He did some extensive testing with the Magnum and the LR versions. The chronograph was the most interesting. He said the 22 Mag didn't start to come alive until it was propelled through a 6" barrel. He said if you use CCI Stingers in the 22lr, you get almost the same velocity as you do with the Magnum rounds. The difference wasn't enough to warrant the extra expense of the Magnum rounds.
He also warned of the "safety notches" between the chambers. He said the little guns are notorious for the hammers getting out of the notch and on a loaded round. He suggested that the hammer should be allowed to rest over an empty chamber. He offered a story to back this- someone he knew carried one of the Magnum minis in his pocket. He was at the tanning bed for a quick tint before a vacation trip. He was in a hurry, quickly disrobed and headed for the bed. In the process he heard a "pop" that he suspected was a bed bulb. He then felt a warm rush down his neck, touched it, and saw blood. In the process he noticed his mini revolver on the floor and immediated realized what had happened.
The bullet had struck his jawbone. The bullet shrapnelled and tore in every direction. At the angle of trajectory, if it had missed his jawbone, it would have been fatal. He did live, but he missed his vacation trip.
After thinking about that story, I feel the blame should be partially shared with the individual, and not rest solely on the revolver. "In a hurry" should never be included with firearm handling. Fiream retention is an important function of any holster. Firearms should be dealt with independantly of clothing being put on or removed.
I just wanted to pass that on.

I'm actually kind of fond of the little North American Arms mini revolvers in .22 Mag.! It's not the flashiest or the most expensive but it's small enough of a package to go anywhere you can legally carry!!! I actually have odd tastes in carry guns but I'll leave that alone, LOL!

Back to guns, i have a security/gun shop that specializes in conceal & carry firearms its call Smart Security and its in Hastings MN. anyway, i was wondering if i can get some input on you others out there on what guns do you like to carry? Now i am looking for carry guns not just good shooters, because i think its like trying to get performance and enconomry from a car, you might come close but you cannot have both, so you have to pick one or the other. So what is everyone carring?
Right now we been trying to keep Kel-teks and Ruger LCP's in stock. It looks like the tend is to get smaller. Let me know what you think?
