I went to the 3rd party links on the NAA webpage the other day and
saw a nice holster for my Guardian .32. Its called a "Holdster" and
sort of resembles a wallet holster, being a folded piece of leather
with the gun in between, but it only covers the triggerguard and
grip, leaving the whole top of the gun, including the slide,
exposed.
At first I thought it was a type of wallet holster, and therefore
illegal to use unless you were willing to register the holster/gun
combination and pay a $200 tax, but the maker and Sandy Chisholm
informed me that it was legal. The maker, Matt Geissal
(thewg2000@...), told me that he submitted it to the BATF for
inspection and they concluded after a few beers that it did not
qualify as a wallet holster and was legal since the trigger and slide
were exposed and it was recognizable as a gun while inside the
holster. Matt also said that he includes a copy of the letter from
the BATF with every sale. Has anyone out there tried one of these?
Does it do a good job of preventing the gun from printing through a
pants pocket?
Cheers,
Joe
