I LOVE the wooden grips on my NAA Guardian. In fact, I have them on both
my Guardian .32 and my Guardian .380.
YES, they do make the grip considerably wider. I can measure them when I
can get the chance (my father has some calipers that I could use). I
would conside the difference significant, but I like the wider grip.
I bought a holster from NAA for my .380 that has a snap over the top of
the grip to hold the gun in place. I really liked it. But when I bought
my checkered wooden grips. the snap would no longer clasp over the wider
grip and I could not use the holster (tho my Guardian .32 would still
fit in it). So I sold it, as I liked the wooden grips more than the nice
leather holster.
I really like the look and the feel of the wooden grips, but yes, they
are bigger. But I highly recommend them. But if you have a concern about
the grip being too wide, maybe you wouldn't like them. If you're ever in
the Utah area, I'll let you handle (and shoot!) my guns if you like.
Unfortunately, the wooden grips are not cheap, so you can't just buy
them and try them without considerable expense. I bought both my wooden
grips when they were the NAA speciaf of the month. I found that I liked
the checkered better, but they are more expensive. I was concerned that
the little checkered diamonds would flake off, but the wood is hard and
holds the checkered cuts well.
You get a luck of the draw on the grain. My .32 Kingwood grips look
really nice, but the grain on my .380 grips aren't quite so beautfiul,
tho they still look nice. The grips are made from the same piece of wood
so both sides match well.
Good luck in your decision.

Hi,
I just bought the NAA Guardian in 32acp. My serial number starts with
ADxxxx, so I guess I've got one of the latest versions. The fit and
finish seem fine and the gun feels great in my hand. Has anyone tried
the wood grips offered on the NAA site? I've heard they have palm swells
and increase the thickness of the gun, but I haven't heard an actual
measurement. If anyone has a set on their gun, I'd appreciate it if you
would measure the thickness and let me know.
Overall, I'm really looking forward to shooting this little gun. I'm
going to put about 100 rounds of ball ammo through before I try
hollowpoints.
Regards,
Joe
