I recently bought my first BP gun, a CVA Hawken .50 caliber single
shot percussion pistol with 9 3/4" barrel. I didn't get a manual with
it. The CVA web site doesn't mention pistols at all.

My local dealer tells me there are several different "50 cal" size
balls available for different guns.

Does anyone have this pistol and know:

recommended ball size

recommended powder type (FFF?)

recommended powder charge

many thanks,
brian in NH
