I used only Goex or Swiss black powder and here is why, I find that the fake
powders in humid Missouri are far more corrosive after firing then True Black
Powder is.
I never have trouble with ignition and I can always clean my guns.
I have a ruger old army that I first used with Pyrodex and when I was done
shooting it would not revolve it was so dirty, I cleaned it and reloaded it, it
set for a couple of weeks and it would not fire, the loads were damp.
I went back to True Black and I never have these issues. My gun stays loaded for
more then a year at a time, and Always fires.
I have friends that tried muzzleloading and now won't do it because they had so
much trouble with the fake powders.
I come along and shoot a flintlock that goes off everytime and they can't
believe it.
Your results may vary.
