Re: [Muzzleloaders] black powder

the cleanest podwer has very little to do with brand although 4f is the cleanest
its also not recomended for use in muzzel loaders what u want to do is go buy a
pound of the powder of your choice and perform a test as to how many grams of
powder to shoot from your firearm  you do this by shoot ing different gram loads
till you find one that leaves the least fouling but still gives the range and
accuracy you desirealthough all black powders are not the same they are very
similar with some fine tuning you can find a load that wil burn up almost
completely and leave little fouling pyrodex is very corrosive but its what i use
in all my black powder firearms even my inline i use a 100 gram charge and at
100 yards with a 295 grain power belt sabot i shoot a 3 shot group that a dime
will touch all 3 shots and im 1 inch high
stretch it out to 200 yards and its 1 inch low same grouping so that is my load
although my inline is rated for 150 gram charge i only use 100 and have been
very successful from100 yards and in never had a shot at a deer  farther than
that.

                                                                          hope
this helps clear up any misconceptions or mis information

                                                                                \
                      Mark
