cannot be converted i am going to put it up for saleIt sounds as though
you are attempting to convert from flint to percussion, or vice versa.
If so it might be a chore to find a lock that'll drop right into an
existing mortise (Have you tried L&R Lock Co.? http://www.lr-rpl.com/ They
carry a line of aftermarket upgrade locks.)
In regard to the barrel, Green Mountain Barrels (
http://www.gmriflebarrel.com/ ) carries drop-in replacement barrels for
certain rifles. Barrel blanks can be adapted to almost anything,
depending on how much of a metal worker you are.
One observation I could make is that it could cost $110 for the lock;
the barrel assembly another $225; and another 200 bucks worth of
frustration and anger as you attempt to mate the components together with
whatever tools you have on hand.It might be more merciful to yourself to
sell it or give it to a friend, and buy whatever it is that you really
like. (What do you like?? Flint, percussion, Plains, smoothie???)
Whatever you decide, we wish you the best.
Ken
