I use a lot of WD40 and patches. Take out the plug or nipple and just keep
squirting it in and run patches with a jag, and eventually it will come out. You
can even spray some in the barrel and let it set overnight. I have seen barrels
so bad that I could not get a patch in, but amazingly they turned out O.K.
