"It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle." Ernest Hemingway

--Rouge Roubaix Bike Race in the Felicianas
--DuDonnie Du Multisport Race in Mandeville (http://www.donzaroo.org/)
--T-Gator Duathlon in Lake Charles
Remember, folks who register on race day for the Baton Rouge Race for the Cure will not -- I repeat -- will not be scored. Committee members organizing this year's event say the race does not have enough volunteers to handle scoring details for those who register on race day.
Also, the LSU Purple & Gold Triathlon is not March 13 as has been circulated in fitness publications and web sites. The Baton Rouge event is set for April 17 and will start with the run and end with the swim in the LSU natatorium (since the Special Olympics Pool is being repaired). Go to lsu.edu/recsportsl.edu for more details or call 225/587-8601.
Spring is definitely in the air and lots of fitness events are on the calendar for this weekend and the entire month of March. Plus, the week-day group bike rides are starting to emerge as the sun lingers longer in the sky. Though the rain keeps running shoes a bit soggy still, it's nice not to have to layer for every outdoor workout these days.
By the way, there is an error in the Louisiana Triathlon website. Capitol Cyclery is one of our key sponsors for this year's event in New Roads on April 24th and again they are providing the swim caps for this year's swim in False River. Thanks so much to Capitol Cyclery for investing in the Louisiana Triathlon.
Mardi Gras Mambo 10km Full Results?
From Bill Clark

Are the powers-that-be going to post the full results of the Baton Rouge Mardi Gras
Mambo10km? The race website posted only the age group results, but not the
complete results. As we all know, runners are compulsive, anal people and
we must have complete results or else we get cranky!

Thanks on Printed Editon of Louisiana Multisport Report
From Ben Hawn
I commend you and Chuck Owen for acknowledging your (minor) errors publicly like this. Don't sweat it. You guys do a great job with the MSR, and all the multisporters that I know read it and dig it. Those that get overly worked up about a few omissions or spelling errors would do well to heed Indurain's remarks.
Next year, I will look more closely at the preliminary rankings than I did this year. I don't know all the players, but I know all of them from Acadiana, and many of the others. Surely I would have caught Kelly Morvant if I had paid attention. I will see you in New Roads on April 24th at the Louisiana Triathlon....
