The annual printed version of the Louisiana Multisport Report should be in the U.S. Mail by the weekend. Check your mail boxes and if you don't mind, let me know when you get yours. I will also begin distributing lots of them to area fitness clubs and retailers in the coming days as well. Hope everyone enjoys our annual printed Louisiana Multisport Report.
Cyclist Lance Armstrong's second book (I think the title is Every Second Counts?) has been a good and inspiring read so far (I'm just getting it from Christmas). He's got some interesting thoughts and his version of events that happened in various Tours de France are really fun to read. The lady who writes his books for him really does a pretty good job of capturing who Lance Armstrong is or at least how he wants the public to see him.
Is Armstrong's first American bike race this year going to be the Tour de Georgia. I hear that he and the U.S. Postal Team are planning on making a big U.S. splash in one of the big American bike races sometime in the spring.
I've never seen so many early registrations for the Saturday, April 24th
Louisiana Triathlon at New Roads. I have about 50 pre-registrations for the
event already, maybe the most January registrations in the 11 years of our
event. Wow. Active.com has been set for about a month now and lots of folks
are signing up on line or printing out hard-copy forms from the web site via
lawired.com and sending in applications.

USAT Cards Essential for 2004 Multisport Race On-Site Registrations
From Susan McManus
In your next report, please remind everyone of the new USAT rule that you
must bring your USAT card when you pick up your race packet. If you do not
bring your valid USAT card with you, you will have to pay the $9.00 USAT one
day fee for the race. Duplicate applications are no longer accepted.
Hey gang, Please put this event on any triathlon or event schedules. It is a
great event and for a wonderful cause. If you have children, it would be a good way to get them started and
motivated. Hope to see you there.

Every event/ date/ distance/ phone number/ e-mail address/ weblink/
etc. has been checked & updated as best I can. Most races already have
complete information available; I expect virtually all will become
available by early March at the latest. I'll post updates as often as
I can as the info filters in.

Note that these are traditional triathlons only; I've not included off road
events, du's, etc. If you are a race director or other knowledgeable type, I would
appreciate it if you could take a moment to check your event(s) and
give me feedback on any errors or updates. There is a "Feedback" link
on the page -- either that address or the one below will work the same.

The Batonrougecycling.com website is now available for your perusal on
a more reliable server, with an up to date BRBC ride schedule.
I'm no website wizard, like the departed Jon Anderson now living in
Minnesota, but I will give you your money's worth (like I'm paid?) while I
cut my baby teeth wrestling the site into
submission.

Timmy Cappo's Rouge-Roubaix Set for March 7
From Jon Anderson
It's that time. We have about 70 riders signed up for Rouge-Roubaix VI. Last year, the fields filled up two weeks before the event, you might want to get signed up soon.
We added a Grandfondo event this year (another idea, again we are winging it here; but hang with us, we sort of think the Gran Fondo is for the mental cases that are not interested in a full-on road race).
Field Limits
A Race - Cat 1,2,3 and Masters - 100 rider limit
B Race - Cat 4, Cat 5, and Women - 100 rider limit
Granfondo - 100-rider limit
A Race - Cat 1,2,3 and Masters - 100 rider limit
B Race - Cat 4, Cat 5, and Women - 100 rider limit
Granfondo - 100-rider limit
This race is dedicated to the late Timmy Cappo, he left us on June 11, 2002; Timmy lives on in our hearts.
