Jackson Day 9km 8:30 a.m.
Crescent City Classic 10km Qualifier; for info go to www.runnotc.org.
I'm still hearing folks talk about 2004 fitness dates, but I sure would like
some official word on all these "proposed" events going on next year for the
printed calendar in the annual Louisiana Multisport Report. Take time please to review the attached
fitness calendar I've got so far. Matt Brown's sportspectrumusa.org has lots of new northwest Louisiana racing dates set for 2004; check it out. Brett Faulk's bicycleracing.com site has lots of new cycling race dates set as well.
I'm also looking for nominations on the state's best multisport web site.
Let me hear from you. Who has the best and most helpful information? Who
post results the best, most accurate and fastest? Who's the funniest? Who's
the dumbest, etc. Let me hear from you so we can recognize folks in our
once-a-year printed publication.
By the way, if you're not sure you are on our Louisiana Multisport Report
mailing list or you've recently moved, email me your newest U.S. mail
address. I send out the magazines free of charge, thanks to all the
advertisers who support the publication.

Still Time for Ads in Printed Louisiana Multisport Report

No Fees for Resolution Run/Ride Set in Baton Rouge
From Daniel Bourgeois
From Club South Runners based in Baton Rouge:
The New (Old) Resolution Group Run is set 8 a.m. on New Years Day at Baton
Rouge's City Park (near the tennis courts). At 9 a.m. there will be a group
ride from the same area where riders will head out to the LSU Vet School and
do the regular loop out to the village of Sunshine and back to City Park.
This run is meant to be a social run for anyone wishing to come out on the
morning of New Years Day. There will be no fees, no clocks, no amenities
other than what you want to bring. Runners can run whatever distances or
split the group and choose your own distance and pace. Come out and make
good on one of your New Year's resolutions
After the run, there will be a leisurely ride out to River Road.
Tri-Running Shop of Lafayette Offers Prize
The Tri-Running shop of Lafayette right off the ULL campus is offering a
random pick for Olympic running hopeful Kevin Castille's run on Saturday.
The shop will be giving away one pair of shoes (anyone we have in stock) to
help support the cause of raising money for Castille to train and try to
enter the upcoming Olympic games.
The 5km run to raise funds is set Saturday at 8 a.m. at the parking lot of
Red Lerille's Health Club off Johnston Street in the Hub City. Runners are
being asked to donate $15 (or more) to run for this great cause. This will
be more of a group run rather than a race. All funds will go directly to
Kevin Castille, a Lafayette native. Organizers are also accepting corporate
donations as well. The ten biggest donors will receive a special gift. If
you can't make the run but would still like to donate to Kevin, please make
a check out to Kevin Castille and mail it to 103 Spring Brook Lane,
Lafayette, LA 70506. For more information contact Russell Bex at

Adventure Races Set for Fontainebleau State Park
Dave Poleto of Louisiana Adventure Racing will be putting on two
fund-raising adult adventure races to partially benefit Donnie, Tonya &
Logan Jarrell this year (much like the adventure race a few months ago)

There will also be a kids adventure race open to all children between ages 5

adult adventure races. This will be a non-competitive event with all kids
