"Experience is that thing that allows you to recognize a mistake when you
make it again."
It's turkey-eating time and there are lots of Thanksgiving holiday runs taking place on Thursday. I know there's one in Baton Rouge for the March of Dimes, another on the Northshore put on by the area district attorney to help young people, and Shreveport has one I think. No doubt there are others. Lafayette is having a very informal one starting at Red's Health Club at 7 a.m. Check your local running club web sites to make sure. In New Orleans there is a five-mile Thanksgiving Turkey Day race starting at Tad Gormley Stadium in City Park at 9 a.m.

There are also lots of Christmas-related events coming up. I know Randy Ellis in Baton Rouge is working hard on one that takes place Dec. 5th in downtown Baton Rouge. It's called the Reindeer Run 5km. More information is listed below.
I am sure there will be lots of cyclists out and about in the Felicianas north of Baton Rouge doing the Baton Rouge Bicycle Club Jam rides. Do be careful out there with all the deer hunters and nutritionally overstuffed country boys and girls driving the roads over there.
I'll be posting early drafts of the year-end Louisiana triathlon rankings and Louisiana duathlon rankings. I encourage multisporters to take a look at these early drafts to help me make sure I've got folks in the right age group and to make sure that folks listed are indeed Louisiana residents. We're getting our list ready for our annual printed publication of the Louisiana Multisport Report, which will be distributed in early 2004.
As I mentioned last week, I am looking for nominations for the Louisiana
multisporter of the year (not just triathletes or duathletes -- but those involved in the whole competitive fitness arena). I got some good nominations, but sure would like to hear from some more folks out there.
I need folks to send at least 35 words -- and I welcome more -- about why a
person (who must be a Louisiana resident) should be named this year's
multisporter of the year. I am hoping to publish this information in the
annual printed edition of the Louisiana Multisport Report. I'm not looking
for triathlete, duathlete, cyclist, runner, swimmer, roller blader,
adventure racer, etc. of the year -- I am looking for the all-around best
multisporter of the year! Let me hear from you.
Also, if you have photos you care to share for this year's printed edition,
I need them ASAP. Please email them to T2DesignsLA@... and copy me
pretty please. For you advertisers, the space reservation deadline is fast
approaching, so I hope you folks are finishing up your ads for the upcoming
printed publication.
By the way, on-line registration via active.com is set and ready for the April 24, 2004 Louisiana Triathlon at New Roads. Take advantage of low, early-season entry fees by registering now.
