I am amazed at how fast the Louisiana Triathlon at New Roads is
filling. Sign in via active.com for the April 22 event, which is the
weekend after
Easter.

Rusty Bex's Sunday, March 19th Opelousas Duathlon championship is
fast approaching. See lafayettefitness.org for details are sign up
via active.com.
Dave Poleto's first in his series of adventure races is coming up
soon, too, on Saturday, March 18th. Hooper Road Park is the site of
the first event of the season and is located just outside of Baton
Rouge. Get the details at LaAdventureRacing.com.
The overall order of finish results from Rouge-Roubaix have been
posted. The chief referee is working on breaking out the complete
category and age group results, and those will be posted as soon as
they are available. Get the results at:

<<Holy Toledo Triathlon Set for March 26>>
From Bobo Anderson
All is well with the Holy Toledo Triathlon at t-minus three weeks to
go. Feedback from hardy tri-geeks across the South has been full of
juice, as seen from this excerpt from a T. Stolz of the Bayou Gators:
"Alright, Bobo, it looks like we're going to have quite a crew of
Bayou Gators up in Toledo Bend later this month. There should be
about four or five us racing, plus a relay, plus wives/significant
others/brokeback cowboys in attendance. This is quickly becoming
THE racing event of the year, and so we are RV'ing it from New
Orleans.
Yes, that's right. A mac-daddy, Meet-the-Fokkers-style motorhome
full of masochistic hoodlums. And Liz is going to film it all,
again."
I, Bobo, have to wonder: Do these "Bayou Gators" occupy the
epicenter of triathlon's hard core here in SE Louisiana?

<<Triathlon Grand Prix Announced>>
From Bob Sigerson
The regional board of USA Triathlon has just set a meeting on March
13, 2006 to make recommendations to national USAT regarding the
Grand Prix events for 2007. To date, I have received only one race
director's interest in being put in the mix for these events and
that was from Rusty Bex's Opelousas Duathlon.
Louisiana hosts a third of the international distance triathlons in
this huge region and I have received no interest from anyone to host
a Grand Prix triathlon (only/international) event. I have also not
received any interest in the Grand Prix sprint-distance events from
some of the more popular triathlons in the region.
I have been fighting for Louisiana members and race director's for
two years and have been held over this year, so I am still fighting.
But I need help in this fight and it all comes down to you guys. If
you don't want or like these championships to be dominated by the
other states, you need to indicate that you have some interest.
The only information I need is the races you want considered(you can
include all you produce, if you want), a probable date in 2007 and
distances if you decide to change them. Thanks for your help!
Wanted to Buy
From Jo Racer
I am looking to buy a carbon fiber frame set. I prefer buying a
Trek Madone, but if you have a different kind I might be interested.
I'm looking for a 56cm but could consider a 54cm. Any leads or ideas
would be helpful. Email me at wjbagley@...
