Merry Christmas!

Winter is typically an interesting time for Louisiana's
multisporting world. While our cold season is comparably mild, they
are still chilly, chilly enough for excuses not to workout. Throw in
a holiday or two and office and company seasonal parties that run
later in the evening than we're usually accustomed to and you have a
recipe for inactivity.

But alas, there are those enduring groups out there who endure the
rain, wind, and weather no matter what season or what place. Heck we
see some of that at events like marathons run in the polar regions
where people actually participate. Probably the most interesting
local group I've encountered is a bunch of guys who bring their bike
rollers to various venues and train together. Still, you see the
lone runners and cyclists trudging in the miles here and there and
the pools are beginning to pack up with groups readying for the busy
2006 triathlon season.

I'm putting final touches on printed edition of the Louisiana
Multisport Report. It will again be distributed free and made
available at various locations for those whose addresses I may not
have. Check out the draft below of 2006 fitness dates I've collected
so far. If there are changes or additions, I need to know ASAP. I'll
be sending out drafts of triathlon and duathlon rankings for one
last general inspection, so stay tuned.

I didn't get much feed back from folks for nominees for Louisiana's
multisporter of the year. I invite you to send your nominees for
publication.

Don't forget you can go to lawired.com and click on the Multisport
Report icon to get issues of this enote or previous issues published
over the years. If you have an email address change, you can make it
yourself at the yahoo.com site which warehouses the reports.

Swim Workouts Considered on Northshore

Ok y'all, it's that time of year again to start swim workouts. With
2006 fast approaching (and for some of you -- IM Arizona less than
four months away), it's time to get back in the pool.

This year, we will start with a four month "TriSwim" session --
January thru April -- at both Pelican Athletic Club & Francos
Athletic Club on the Northshore. And since there is an added month
in this ONE session, the fee will go up a little.

And, there may be a few other changes in time. For the first
session, I am thinking of

Wednesdays and Fridays 5a.m.-6 a.m. Franco's & 6:15 a.m.-7:15 a.m.
PAC (or 6:30 a.m.-7:30 a.m.)

NOTICE - the times at each club are different than last year and
this is tentative, thus subject to change. I would appreciate input
from all of you who would like to take part this year at either
club. If the times don't work for you, please let me know. They can
be changed if there is enough conflict. And if they do work, I would
like to know, too, that information. I really need feed back before
I make everything official.

There are additional swimming opportunities for those of you who may
want or need a little more attention in the pool. There is a small
group that swims month to month at Franco's (must be a member) on
Tuesday/Thursdays 10 a.m.-11a.m. This runs $50/month.

Or, if you have a group of friends who want to learn to swim
together, we can form group swims for you at either club. And
private sessions/lessons are available at either club for the
swimming challenged.
