"Live as you will have wished to have lived when you are dying."
Charles F. Gellert
Merry Christmas! Hope everyone is getting into the spirit of the
season. It's just chilly enough to enjoy longer runs, appreciate
warmer pools, and crave thicker cycling socks! Hope Thanksgiving was
good for everyone and used as a good break before the serious
preparation for 2006's racing season looms. Remember you gotta take
a break sooner or later or you'll get a break for which you didn't
plan. I know I know, I'm just so profound! That's sarcasm for those
that may have missed it. Just be careful out there.
If you've got 2006 fitness event dates you want printed in the
annual edition of the Louisiana Multisport Report, send them ASAP.
Also, if you've got a special multisporter you care to nominate for
special recognition, email that, too, with as much detail supporting
your nominations for top multisporters as you care to share.
Remember, the printed edition of the Louisiana Multisport Report
focuses on Louisiana multisporters racing in Louisiana events. While
we certainly applaud out-of-state accomplishments, we really are
interested in highlighting happenings in the Bayou State. Let me
hear from you.
Are there any unviversities in the state that have event management
classes or programs? I'm looking for folks interested in some
independent study on event management for the April 22 Louisiana
Triathlon at New Roads. Surely undergraduate programs still offer
independent study options, right?
The fitness event calendar for the month is thick with racing

**Holy Toledo Triathlon Set for April 9**
From Bobo Anderson <bobo_the@...>
It's like a triathlon ...only harder!
The third evolution of the Holy Toledo Triathlon
Challenge (III) will be held April 9, 2006, despite date listing
previously listed for the coming year. Again the race is set at
Cypress Bend Park on Toledo Bend Reservoir, 12 miles west of
Many, LA. The course features a nearly flat 1-mile swim (wetsuit
legal), a 40-mile bike on some of Louisiana's finest pavement
(really!) that is mainly rolling but includes several "big ass"
hills, and a now infamous 10-mile run that has humbled everyone
except Andrew Kenworthy, and he was pretty spent.
This is not a race for flimsy trigeeks or newbies.
It's tough from the get-go, and all finisher shirts,
mugs, and dog-tags will be earned.
We're all camping out this year, hopefully John
Deshotel will be in the cooking mood he was in last
year, and we're all gonna have a blast. Food, fun,
and a wicked hard race.
Check out the website for all information, as well as
race reviews and a great 8 minute video by Hall &
Stolz. www.holytoledotri.com
