"You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a
year of conversation." Plato (427-347 B.C.)
Good luck to all those doing the rescheduled Meat Pie Triathlon in
Natchitoches this weekend. It should be a bit chilly in Cane River.
Any reports on the Piney Hill Classic races held last weekend in
Ruston? It's been quiet on the northern front lately.
Can someone confirm whether there will be an off-road duathlon in
Baton Rouge this fall?
Okay, it's the proverbial "fish or cut bait" time in the
organization of the annual printed edition of the Louisiana
Multisport Report. I have been fortunate to
have a core of loyal advertisers who make the publication possible
over the last 11 editions. But this year, with life and business in
Louisiana totally different now, that core financial support has
changed. Therefore, I appeal to all you running, biking, swimming,
fitness groups and clubs to consider buying an ad in this annual
edition. Whether your group has an event to publicize or not,
this is an opportunity for you to showcase your group and key
projects and events in which your group may have been involved. I do
hope all you fitness groups out there with budgets that can afford
to buy ads will seriously consider placing an ad.
Others can use the ads in the Louisiana Multisport Report as an
avenue to thank key corporate sponsors and their involvement in your
sport. Think creatively in using this one-time only printing
opportunity as a time share your message for the past year and the
one coming. I need your materials by Nov. 11, 2005. Call me or email
me if you have more questions or check out the attachments.
Retired professional cyclist Lance Armstrong and his girl friend
Sheryl will host this weekend's Saturday Night Live show on NBC.
Baton Rouge multisporter Stan Cadow wrote a story about IronMan
Triathlete Maria Martinez. Check out the story attached.
The Tiger Duathlon is Nov. 12 on the LSU campus in Baton Rouge. It's
set to start at 8:30a.m. at the Sports and Adventure Complex on
River Road and features a 3.1 mi run, 20-mile bike, 3.1 mi. There is
a team or individual competition.
