Lets have some fun this Sunday with a R+P; ride and paddle.
If you're up for some kayaking after our ride, bring your bathing suit

October 11th in Hochspeyer, near K-town, there is a Cross Duathlon.
It is 5K trail run-20K MTB-5K trail run. It sounds like it might be a
good time. Is anyone interested in participating?

http://www.crossracer.eu/Webpages/home.html

I'm seriously thinking about doing it. I'll be back from Aviano by
then for sure. Oh and I'm feeling much better now, so I might not
look like such a punk. Check out the website and respond!!

Lewis ran me over!!! The Championship race was this weekend at the Garmisch
Resort. Seven
Saber Cyclists made the trip to ride the always challenging Garmisch course.
This year the
course was a bit different and there were also less local national riders. The
local rider who
usually laps the field came out to stretch his legs a bit as he cruised away to
first place
overall.
The race started out as an uphill sprint to get to the single track then opened
up to some fire
roads right before the long hike a bike section. The course was dry and all of
it was rideable
(except that hike a bike uphill).
Chris Vachon had one of his best races ever, but some "strategic category moves"
from other
racers kept him off the podium. Franci and Trish got 2nd and 1st in their
categories as well
as some 1st place in their cats. for points in the series. Steve McGrew also
went home with a
nice trophy for his 2nd place finish in the Mens Civ Open cat.
The rest of us held on and gave it our best to represent our team and sponsors.
Overall it
was a great time and great weather. I guess now we can all take a break and
actually check
out some scenery on our rides (for a bit!).

i apologize for not participating with the group more this year. I
have been very discouraged by knee pain which after three years is
finally going to be taken care of later on in October. Ive been
logging a few miles on my own and ive picked up MUni. I will
definetly be participating more often after i recover from surgery.

Chris,

Drive safe, sucks you have class. We are leaving at noon on Friday.
I haven't nailed down a place to stay, but it looks like we might be
sharing an apartment with Steve and his family. I'm looking forward
to a great weekend. See you there!

Just so you guys can keep tabs on me, I'll be driving over to Garmisch
on Saturday. I'm in class until Friday, so I cannot leave any earlier.
I'm planning to leave really early so we can be there in time to
preride the course and check out the ice breaker. See you all down
there.

Word! There was a lot of carnage out there on the trail. While John and
Cody were sitting 20 ft down the slope from the trail, a German hiker
asked me if I thought that it was safer to walk. I promptly told
her "No!, If I wanted to waste my life away I wouldn't do it hiking
with ski poles." That may be an exageration, but the original question
was posed? See you guys later.

the three that got lost. Mandershied is always a good time. I think its

It's like a magic carpet ride. I can't believe the difference. I still have some
fine tuning to
do (mostly cockpit adjustments), but it feels great. I think we will get along
pretty well.

It is not. I'm heading to Trier in the a.m. to check out a bike shop
called Velo Point. It's 1000 sq/m bigger than whatever it was before
and though I'm not at all sure how big that is I think there are more
than likely a bunch of bike-y type things there to oogle.

I'm not going F trailing either; I have to get some stuff taken care
of here before we leave for Garmisch next week. If you need a had let

I saw Steve today at ODR; he was going to try to set his wheels up

I planned on riding this with you guys, but I won't make it. I had a
bicycle melt down yesterday and I really need to take care of some

I don't remember if you said the brakes were rubbing or not, but if
they are do this:
Put a business card between the rotor and pad on both sides. Loosen
the centering bolts, squeezed the lever and tighten them back up. If
they are still getting close to the handle we'll have to try bleeding
them. I have the Avid bleed kit.

Rest easy friends the wheels have arrived. I have it all together now
I just need to tweak the breaks and derailleurs. I'm going to take it
around the Spang loop tomorrow evening.

Man I love the F-trail, but I just can't this weekend. We should make this trip
a priority after
Garmisch though. Sorry Juanito

It's tough because the logo is low on the jersey. Here is a link to rodenbach's
photo gallery
a couple of photos may work:

I'm not sure if these are high-res enough for their needs, but this is my
contribution.

Hey everyone!

Just throwing it out there to see if anyone would be interested in
riding the F-trail down in Rodahlben this Saturday? Id like to see if
anyone wants to go before I make the decision to drive down
myself...For those of you that havent dont it yet, its one of the best
rides youll do in germany...you could literally ride for 4 hours on
pure singletrack...its very rollercoaster like and fun. Reply if your
interested!
