Well, happy as I am with my Miyata 1000 as my touring bike, I feel lucky to have
just
come into an older (early 80s) Miyata 210. It appears to share the same basic
frame
as the 1000 and 610, but has only one set of bottle brazeons and no front rack
brazeons. Aside from that, the only difference between it and my 1000 is that
the
210 has horizontal dropouts while the 1000 (an 86) has verticals. Fine by me,
as one
posible build option would be to use an internally geared hub on it for
commuting.
Paint's kinda rough, but as a commuter that's not a handicap... in fact, it's an
advantage if I have to lock up outside much. I'm only getting the frame and
fork, so I
get to build it as I see fit. Whoo hoooo!
