PHILLIES SIGN TIM WORRELL

The Phillies made another acquisition to strengthen their
bullpen Tuesday when they announced the signing of free
agent right-handed relief pitcher Tim Worrell to a
multiyear contract. Worrell, 36, has primarily been a setup
man in his 11-year career, but filled in as the Giants
closer last season and saved 38 games. He will combine with
left-hander Rheal Cormier to form a strong bridge to closer
Billy Wagner.
