All-for-one Halos win it all
For the first time in baseball history, the Anaheim Angels are world champions, completing their magical run to the top of the sport in Game 7 on Sunday evening before 44,598 at Edison Field. "Everyone can take joy in the fact that they've played a part in our success," said Salmon, the longest-standing member of the team with 10 years under the halo.

Rookie Lackey shows veteran poise
The champagne went on ice in late afternoon. Then John Lackey -- the first rookie in 93 years to win a Game 7 -- took the mound against the Giants, a human block of ice who refused to crack under pressure. For five innings, he held San Francisco at bay, holding the G-Men to a Reggie Sanders sacrifice fly while the Angels marshaled enough offense for a World Series-clinching 4-1 victory to pop those corks.
