Livan Hernandez
Handling Hernandez
In their first two series this postseason, the Angels lost Game 1, then went on to sweep the Yankees and the Twins. But if they want to continue that pattern against the Giants, they'll have to win three straight at Pac Bell Park. No easy task, especially since October phenom Livan Hernandez -- thus far immune to playoff pressure -- takes the hill in San Francisco for Game 3.

MLB.com's Jim Molony sees the Big Picture, and breaks down the series going forward.

What we've learned
Game 1 of the World Series was beautiful baseball at its best. Big hits, clutch pitching and a 4-3 victory for the Giants. Game 2, an 11-10 affair won by the Angels, was a jaw-dropping display of power. For that matter, this October, scoreboards are lighting up with home runs at a record pace. Barry Bonds and Troy Glaus have six homers apiece, each one shy of the all-time high for a single postseason.

Urban Legends takes a look back at the first two games of this World Series and discovers that these teams really are as evenly matched as advertised ... which should make this October a true classic.   Full story >
