Dear brother,

If I'm not wrong you were born in Bahia, my mother is also baiana. I
found out this fan group recently but there are plenty of communities
that support you at Orkut. I'm sure you have seen some of them there.

I hope you are very succesfull in the USA, country which is very
competitive in terms of bodybuilding. I'm sure you will conquer some
contests such as "Iromen, Arnold Classic, Mr. Universe whatever.

I'd like to know if you have an official website with pictures of
yours in competition?

Dear Miguel,

As everybody knows you have been living in the USA. This made me
think about the racial prejudice in this country.

The USA have never been as good example of racial democracy. On the
other hand, despite being very racial, it's also truth black people
have better opportunities to improve themselves in terms of
education and work.

What could you say about it?

Specially you who are a real Brazilian African representative
because of your skin color that's very dark. Did you suffer any
prejudice, discrimination there?

Do you think black people in the USA have much better opportunities
than in the Brazil?

I was very struck by Miguel's physique and appearance when I
photographed him in New York early this year.  He needs his image
spread all through the magazines.  His dark, dark complection is very
striking, and his physique itself is great.  I am hoping to shoot him
over a period of several days here in the Bay Area next year.

I got a nasty email from a stranger suggesting Miguel should do
nudes.  I don't agree. I posted some photos in the photo section from
what I call the Golden Age of Fantasy Novel Covers.  Boris Vallejo was
famous for his drawings of men and women with beautiful physiques,
such as Conan.

I don't think anyone has tapped the service of what people like Miguel
can do without bearing all.  Bearing nearly always becomes exploitive.

It is very difficult for me to do a diet program like these.Usually
when someone ask me for a diet i ask a lot personal information about
the person, because what can works for me sometimes cannot work for you.
It is important to keep growing that you include protein in all your
meals, but different one's like eggs, fish and chicken and more often
lean red meat.Carbs,I recommend oatmeal, sweet potato ,and brown rice,
after the 3th to 4th meal start eating more vegetables instead carbs.

I just want to say that right know I am resting,I am in Brazil right
now, i am going to be more 2 months out of my work out,because i did a
cornea transplant in my both eyes,I had a genetic problem called
Keratoconus and also I am taking care about an injury in my elbow that
was preventing me from doing some kinds of exercise.
I am planning to compete in 2007.
The weather here is excellent,It has a great food here also, just very
poor gyms comparing with USA.

hi guys ý have just started building my body up and i have heard that
diets are really important in doing so.And i need your help to
reccommend me some kind of muscle building diet programmes that will
be useful for me and people looking for this.I need some diet
programmes which dont include stuf like protein powders. bars, and so

a yahoo group that I belong to, posted some pictures of you. I just
wanted to drop you a line and congratulate you for your great
physique. You look dense and very proportionate.
I started lifting more or less one year ago. I gained 40 pounds and
couple of inches here in there. I am aiming to compete in the fall of
2007. My partner, who is from San Paulo, is helping me as well with my
diet and supplements.

Friday night I posted some new photos of Miguel that he sent me.  I
have a few more that I will get up in a few days, too.  Miguel is one
of the most striking bodybuilders on the IFBB pro circuit, so check
out his studio shots that just went up.

I work out my calves 1 week 3 times and the other week 2 times.
2 exercises 4X15
they around 21 inches each.

Just to say you look great. Hope we get to see more pix. Love the
colour!!  Keep on using the oil ...

Miguel, in your career as a bodybuilder, what show did you enjoy being
in the most, and why ?  What was it about that show that pleased you
more than others did ?

Well i can say that I am 100% black.
All my shows i just use oil to make me shine, except in Colorado Pro
show that i tryed to use dream tan to make me shiner than when i use
only oil.
Later i will post some pictures of the show and you can tell me wich
one do you prefer.

Since I took the photos posted in this fan club, may I comment on
Miguel's skin color?  Obviously it would be interesting to have his
comment on this, but if he is using any darkening agent, it isn't
doing very much.  Miguel has exactly an ebony look to his skin color.
I have photographed hundreds and hundreds of bodybuilders, and he has
about the darkest skin I have seen.  He really does look as though he
is made of ebony.

In art school one of the things teachers somtimes mention is that the illusion
of volume (muscle mass and shape in this case) is greatest when the difference
between the darkest dark and the lightest light is the greatest.  They may not
be able to describe this principle, but that's why most bodybuilders head for
the tanning booth before a show.

So, Miguel, do you use any darkening agent before a contest ?

You have a rich and healthy dark color to your skin.  Is it real?
Some bodybuilders are using a coloring agent to make them look
darker.  I remember someone quoted as saying "the coloring makes a
bodybuilder's muscles more visible under heavy stage lighting" or
something like that.  Is your coloring real?  You really look like a
beautiful ebony sculpture come to life.  It would be kind of
disappointing to find you use a coloring agent.  Regardless, best of
luck to all your endeavors.

Mr Universe 2001 That i got 7th place was located in Thailand and was
IFBB.
