Next Tuesday is the annual Mt Hope Cemetery hill workout..? We missed it last
summer because Mt Hope Street was torn up and we went to Evergreen instead.? 2
person relay (can get? partners there), each runs 8 x 3/8 mile (660yds/600m)?
winding uphill with finish line at apex.? Partner starts when runner reaches
hill peak, and runner recovering walks down the steep hill instead of the
pounding braking if they had to run down also. Remember that the cemetery
officials want us to park with no car wheels off the pavement.? The starting
line is on the west edge of cemetery and about halfway towards the back.?
Park?single file on those?lanes that are farther back (south) then the running
route.? Incidentally, as of last Thurs the construction people still have a
porta john on the Riverwalk by the entrance to the cemetery.?

in last weeks's result neglected to point out that Barb Knuth duplicated the
workout solo fashion and did?her 6 x?3/4 mile repeats in 30:15.? Becky McMahon
left the course for a solo run on the new Riverwalk.?And....
a new first timer last Tuesday.? Another MSU grad student, Sarah Jorgensen,
had?a Tuesday night MMTC interval session for the first time.? She paired with
Kari Chandler who lamented on her own second repeat that?she was not getting
enough rest.? No wonder!? She ran college cross-country at Loyola University of
Chicago.
