I'm only getting this from the Yahoo email list - correct?

Hawk Island
Sep 30 fall like day
60 degree, breezy, dark overcast.
2 person relay
4 x * mile with * mile
Comments:
Because almost 100% of MMTC people run the Riverwalk Half-Marathon or
5K on the previous Sunday, it was discovered that having a difficult
workout scheduled the following Tuesday did not fit. Therefore, runners
were instructed to use the intervals at a comfortable recovery speed.
It was hoped when schedule made that we would have a pleasant,
picturesque fall run around the pond. Instead the skies were ominous
and a low purple overcast to remind us that the summer workout schedules
are coming to an end.
Robert Cook partnered with Jason Peabody and Tim Densmore who paced
each other. Jason was first to get to the finish line, but somehow they
didn*t get the sequence right and no one knows how actually far they
went. You would think that as the male gender, they would have stopped
and asked for directions.
The first on-the-route finishers were MSU women, Marsha Backstrom and
Becca Rudey in 37:24, pretty decent 6 miles!
At the finish line Tim Held and Jim Hicks forgot the recovery run
business and fought each other to the finish, Held sprinting in a step
in front of Hicks.
It was interesting to watch partners pairing up. The same people who
were a few steps apart when running individual mile intervals were now
team partners instead of *competitors*.
Because of the recovery n
ature of the run, times were not recorded for posterity (except for the
first on route team). Instead the finish order was enough for the
archives.
