Introducing a New Lansing Area Trail Race on November 1, 2008 - "The  d’Ear
Lake Lansing North 10k Trail Race"

We need runners and volunteers!!!!!  Please please please sign up.

For those of you who remember Bob's Run, the "always cash-strapped" The
Listening Ear lost lots of revenue when Bob's Run ended, so The Listening Ear
approached me (since I direct Ele's Race) to help them replace Bob's Run with
something.   The Lake Lansing North 10k Trail Race is what I came up with.
Please consider this as an alternative to running on asphalt if you're looking
for a post marathon season local race.  This race is planned on the very same
trails that Curt Munson and Team is working so hard perserve up in the Lake
Lansing North park. You can check out their efforts at
http://www.preservelakelansingtrails.org/index.html.

The 1st annual d’Ear Lake Lansing North 10k Trail Race is a race developed for
runners by runners and takes place along the scenic Lake Lansing North park
trail.  The trail is a stunning run along open fields, sheltered pine forests
and raised boardwalks. It is rustic, rolling terrain that challenges and
inspires, and it is the only race of its kind in the Lansing area. The race will
be held on November 1, 2008. All net proceeds benefit The Listening Ear Crisis
Intervention Center in East Lansing.

CHILI for a cool November Post Trail Run Meal
We're getting several friends to make a variety of chili as post race food. So
far, I know that we have=2
02 venison chilis, one beef/pork chili, and one vegetaian.  If you'd like to
volunteer your chili, please contact Chris Holzer at 517-896-8027.  If we get
enough, we'll get the participants and volunteers to vote on the best chili.

RACE INFORMATION
You can register on line now at
https://www.signmeup.com/site/reg/register.aspx?fid=232V9K7, or you can visit
http://www.playmakers.com/racecalendar/event.php?raceid=846 for more
information.

The registration form is attached (hopefully Gordon can forward the PDF). If
not, it's available at http://www.playmakers.com/raceflyers08/Lake.pdf.

To volunteer please download
http://www.playmakers.com/raceflyers08/volunteer.pdf.

We are still in need of sponsors too.

Please pass this information on to people that you think may want to sponsor,
run, and/or volunteer.

Thanks so very much, and I really hope to see you all soon either at Track Club
