I have heard that there are a few of you round there although I never
realised you were on the group yet. Good to know.
Just had a quick look at my charts. I reckon I could on a good day, Provided
the tides are with me, sail to Burnham on Crouch in 12 hours. You guys could
probably get there in about 8 hours. If we plan to do this on a Long weekend
we could sail there on day one, then arrange a bit of a race, a barbecue and
a good ol yarn on day two and sail back home again on day three. Possibly
best to arrange this in the middle of summer so that we have lots of
daylight. (I do not have any lights fitted to my boat)
I have never been to Burnham on Crouch. Perhaps they have suitable launching
facilities in place for those who have to travel from further a field or
prefer to tow down by road.
Just a thought. I still have to think it through properly and look at the
tide tables for next year to see if they are suitable for Bank Holidays.
Have you guys ever sailed down there, or is this slightly out of reach for
you guys. Find out from the rest of the Manningtree fleet if they might be
up for this.
Regards
Terry
