Well, it official. The windsurfing season has begun!  The iwindsurf graph (metro beach) has the winds hitting 40 knots at 6pm.  (PHOTO of Chris, 4.5  in 30 knts!)

 

There were about 8 kiters and 4 windsurfers when I arrived. I rigged a 98L and 5.8 and had a good hour. About 4:30 pm things started really getting interesting. I switched to a 84L and 5.0.

 

Just before that, Jeff, Chris and I were blown off the water on 5.5/5.8/6.1's in the first of the surprise gales.  

 

After 6 pm it was a 3.7 to 4.0 survival session. 

 

We left the water at 6:30 unable to control the 4.5/5.0's in the gales.
