I know this is really late for asking, but I guess that is the way
things work... Alex (Cass head park ranger) asked if us regulars
there would participate in a "Get out and Move" day (or something to
that affect) that she claims the governor is hyping for all the
state parks. Each park will highlight activities special to their
facility. She was trying to do fishing, wakeboarding, kayaking, and
other things related to the lake. That bring us to windsurfing! She
is a supporter of us at the park and was hoping to have at least a
demo if not lessons. I told her I would come with my beginner gear
and do what I could. I tried Dave and Mark from Lansing, but they
have a full schedule this season already. I mentioned that I would
ask this forum for any additional recruits. If you have a big board
and small sail and could possibly help out, it would be
appreciated. Who knows, maybe we'll get some newbies interested in
taking up the sport! Could be a way to unload light air gear as well.
Also talked a little with George about generating more lesson
interest. He wondered if someone (me?) were able to devote some
regular time, if folks out there would donate old light air
equipment to the cause. He said Ezzy may be willing to help with
rigs if needed. George thought we might be able to con some storage
space at the park, so hauling it around would not be such an issue.
A land trainer/simulator would be easier to accomodate with that as
well. TWC used to have one of those around - I could check on that.
So, let me know if you have a few hours and could pitch in, or if
the equipment discussion tweaks you at all. Thanks, Bob Schoen
