OK, its not IN Michigan, but it is near Michigan, so here goes.

Looking for something a little different to liven April up? Like to
play in the mud, hurtle down a little singletrack, and hang out with
like minded maniacs? (OK- it sounds like a sales pitch.)

If you do, there's a race for you. The Paris-Ancaster Enduro is a
60km (or 30km) point to point race running from just outside
Brantford ON, to just outside Hamilton ON. It consists of gravel
roads, dirt roads, single track, rail-trails, and a few places where
you really go cross country. There is a nasty mudslide down powerline
road and a fun 9% grade uphil the last 400m.

It does draw some serious folks from across Ontario, and more than a
few pros show up to make an early season statement.

The race websites are:
http://paris-ancaster.8m.com/ (Race info)
http://www.canadiancyclist.com/races02/parisancaster/padefault.shtml
(registration)

If anyone is interested, I'm going, have room in the van and space on
the rack.
