As everyone knows by now, I co-host a 100% commercial-free, no one
makes a dime from it, Sports Talk radio show on Long Island.

I have 2 things that I think would be of value to everyone here:

1--Right before leaving for Port St. Lucie, Daily News Mets beat
reporter ADAM RUBIN did a 2-hour in-studio 2009 Mets Preview with us.
The 2 files are in MP3 format, and can be found at
http://hosted.filefront.com/patchyfogg

2--Tonight, live at 9:15PM on Long Island's 90.3FM, #1 source in the
Mitchell Report/#1 supplier of steroids to MLB players/former Mets
clubhouse attendant KIRK RADOMSKI joins us. We will upload that
interview to the aforementioned website, as well.

Thanks!

the mets signed Maine to a one year2.6 million dollar contract to avoid
arbitration, the only Met that could come up for arbitration now is
Feliciano. mets.com says that Feliciano and the Mets are about $600,000
apart on the figures, what are the thoughts? Im all for Maine he is
one of my favorite players to watch, and he's got good stuff. Feliciano
is a good specialist and i hope they can come to a deal.

In addition to the above savings if a minimum of 15 customers you
refer pay their bills, you will receive a credit on your Ambit Energy
bill equal to the average amount of their payments. This credit
applies every month as long as you maintain a minimum of 15 customers
who pay their bills. If the average of your referred customers'
monthly payments is equal to or more than your bill for the month,
you pay nothing!

In New York, Ambit Energy serves all five boroughs of New York City
and Westchester County. In our service area there are 3.4 million
potential customers who pay an average electric bill of $100 a month,
and only 10% of those have switched to an ESCO. Statewide,
electricity is a $10 billion market, and Ambit has expansion
opportunities into the service areas for Orange & Rockland, Rochester
Gas & Electric, Niagara Mohawk and KeySpan. And we now offer natural
gas service, which can potentially double commissions and bonus
income for our Consultants.

In Illinois, Ambit Energy competes for residential natural gas
customers in the Nicor Gas service area. In our service area there
are 2.1 million potential customers that represent more than $2
billion in annual revenue.

Texas is leading the country as a model for deregulation. It is the
11th largest electricity market in the world. In Texas alone,
residential customers spend over $24 billion dollars every year and
most of those customers are still paying the highest rates in the
market. Ambit Energy provides an opportunity to save money and earn
income at the same time.

For a 25-year-old with 94 career saves, a 2.88 ERA and 271 strikeouts
in 269 innings, Street sure does seem to be taken lightly. Even in his
worst year, he had a .229 average against and fanned 69 in 70 innings.
He has been shaky in the ninth inning and he is starting to get
expensive, but there's little reason to think he's going to stop being
an effective reliever anytime soon. We're guessing he'll do pretty well
as a closer for whatever team he ends up with.

end of last season. I don't believe the mets will make a run at hoffman, street
can still be had I believe the rockies will move him before long. KROD will be
to much money and the mets have other holes to fill.

Since I lived in the Philly area for 18 years I had the pleasure to
go to quite a few games at Citizens bank Park. Great ballpark. Never had trouble
their even in my Mets garb. As far as Eagles fans, I never once went to an
Eagles Giants game there simply because of the eagles hooligans fan base.
Watched it from the safety of home.

Now to closers. Yes, K-rod is the best on the market but the price would almost
be in the Santana realm and I think we need help at more than just the closer
spot. Hoffman would be far cheaper and my gut says he would accept a one year
deal with a legitimate contender plus a club option for a 2nd year to sign with
the Mets. I vote for hearing hell's bells at the new park. Use the money saved
by not going for K-rod to shore up the middle relief and the OF.

Too bad, Street has been traded to the Rockies. Getting Hoffman would be a
boost, as it would give the farm system time to develop a closer over the next
12 - 18 months. I prefer Hoffman for 1 yr with a club option for 2010 over
Fuentes, remember, he was a Coors Field pitcher.....

I am currently listing all my cards on Beckett.com and there are
currently 10,312 and it is growing daily. They are sorted into
collections based on the team the player is with at the time the card
was released, certain star players listed separately, HOFers and then
specialty sets like Topps Heritage or SP Legendary Cuts. As an
example, you won;t find any Ryne Sandberg in the Cubs or HOF'er
listings as I considered him a star worthy of being listed alone. When
I am done with the inventory, there will be about 200,000 cards
listed. To find them, go to Beckett.com and search for me under
people/collector's and put in my ID which is lt56pluto. From there you
will be able to click on my collections and browse them all. If you
are looking for any specific items, please drop me a line.

I agree with Andy.  The Mets have no one to blame but themselves for
their late season collapse (again!).  I do not hate the Phillies.  They play the
game right, play together as a team, and are enjoyable to watch.  I have no
problem with Jimmy Rollins' anti-Mets comments, especially now that he has
backed them up with a championship.  Being near Philly, I have been to about a
half dozen games at Citizen Bank Ballpark, and it is a great place to watch a
game.  Hopefully Citi Field will have many happy memories for the Amazin's
next season.

The agreement is simple: I am giving blogs new content to post and

think its doubtful the cubs got rid of him because he was throwing the ball like
88mph he needs it to be like 95 to be back to the form he was the last time the

The problem is not the closer, but getting to the closer. When you
pull your starter in the 6th or 7th holding a lead, but the relievers cough it
up before the 9th, a lights out closer doesn't help. Look at the Phillies. Lidge
did not blow one save and the bullpen usually held the leads till it was closing
time. K-rod will look great in a Mets uniform as long as we dump heilman,
schoenwise ( schoenstupid) and the rest of the bums and get some real relievers.
I wonder if Mark prior could be transformed into a closer??

perez did well today and has great stuff but me will want more years and money
then the mets will be willing to give him. stokes could be a number 5 starter
seeing as that is what he is (a starter, not middle relief) smith should stay
the rest of the pen needs to be figured out i like cc but he will cost way to
much k-rod might come over but he could resign with the angels they have a good
sized payrole to play with. i'll look for the mets to try to make a trade for a
pitcher not zito or lowery though maybe halladay from the jays if the mets give
up enough i doubt that highly they should try for brandon league from the jays.
as for the pen they could try to get someone from the tigers... signs are
pointing that they are going to cut fat from the payrole there could be some
good players had from them.

I think that Oliver Perez is not at fault for today. The blowpen is the problem
and if it's not fixed by April, 2009 is a lost year.

Change is definitely needed if the Mets are to contend any time in the
forseeable future. From my perspective, it was obvious they would miss
the playoffs when they failed to bring home the winning run from 3rd
with nobody out in the bottom of the 9th of a tird game. But the old
adage rings loud and clear, you need pitching in order to win. From the
current roster, only Johan, Pelfry and Maine deserve to be part of the
rotation going forward. As for the bullpen, well, maybe Stokes and
Smith deserve to be at spring training, as for the rest of them, clear
out your lockers and find other clubs. The Mets have to make a run at
getting K-rod or CC, and I would think it might behoove Omar to ask the
Giants about the availability of Zito or Lowry. Maybe Wade Miller is
healthy again somewhere. The 2008 collapse was due to the blowpen,
nothing else.

I'm telling if they don't get that middle relief straight you definitely can
write off 2009. That bullpen can't keep lead for nothing, they all need to be
sent to the minors. They stink.

I am still too stunned to even try to comprehend how you can get a leadoff
triple to start the bottom of the 9th in a tied game, and nobody can produce a
sac fly!!! And when the Cubs walked Delgado and Beltran to load the bases, with
1 out, a sac fly still WINS the game. Or a wild pitch, hit the batter,
something. The winning run is 90 ft away and these chokers found a way to lose
in 10. And there is talk of extending Omar thru 2012?? Why? If this club does
not go after K-rod in a serious fashion, as well as other middle relievers,
write off the 2009 season as well. And we were fooled into thinking they had
gotten over last September by their July/August record. What a CHOKE/JOKE.. ...
