Paul Lo Duca did nothing the entire series? I seem to recall a clutch hit in
the 7th inning of Game 6 that helped seal a win for the Mets. Yeah this was a
heartbreaker- my 11-year old son cried for an hour last night. The injuries
(Pedro, Cliff, etc.) also definitely hurt. Bottom line- let's not point fingers
and just focus on winning next year.

worst defeat in mets history guys,
even worst than losing the world series to the yankees, worst than
losing to the braves in 99. This is a game we had, a series we had,
a team we dominated and we let it slip away. There are no shortages
of players to blame so lets start with the 10 players who cost us a
pennant and possibly our first world series in 20 years.
10.Pedro-Even though he didnt pitch his injury was huge, having a
healthy pedro probably woulda negated traschels awful start in game
4 and even if didnt have a great game his presence alone woulda been
enough
9.Endy Chavez-Greatest catch i have ever seen and he kept the team
in the game, but what did he do for the rest of the series besides
hit a buck eighty?
8.All Mets pinch hitters-couldnt get a hit to save their lifes,
complete disappointments
7.Valentin-Awful the entire series besides a clutch hit in game 4
didnt do much else
6.Beltran-He was the star of the show with delgado, the only two
hitters to show up this series but it was inexcusable to not swing at
an 0-2 pitch with the bases loaded
5.Lo Duca-Absent the entire series, the number 2 hitter was more
often then not flailing at pitches out of the strike zone or lofty
easy fly ball outs, did nothing the entire series
4.Aaron Heilman-I cant criticize the guy too much because he was
brillant the entire series and season but giving up a home run to
a .214 hitter with 7 home runs in the regular season and one of the
lowest OBP and SLG in baseball? it kinda reminds you of Mike Scoscia
circa 1988, most shocking event this series of shockers, the hit
took all the life out of the mets fans and team
3.Traschel-Stunk up the joint in game 3 in probably his last game as
a met, good riddence to this choke artist loser
2.David Wright-He was the mets Arod, his new nickname is DaveRod,
complete disappointment in the postseason, the pressure of the
spotlight got to this kid and he couldnt get a hit to save his life,
might have been the biggest reason we lost this series had it not
been............
1.Billy Goat Wagner blowing game 2 at home changed the entire
momentum of the series, from taking a 2-0 lead at home going to st.
louis, suddenly we were tied 1-1 with the 2 worst pitchers in the NL
about to pitch for us, giving up a home run to a .234 hitter all
season with 4 home runs is inexcuable, once again a met closer blows
the postseason for us, typical

2000-benitez
