It was a knee buckler of a pitch, what can ya do? the carloses did just about
all you could do.
If not for beltran, who knows if we even win game one. how soon we forget!
we had a great year, a great season, and almost pulled it off despite losing
pedro and el-duque.
hell we had oliver perez a 3-13 pitcher, throw 6 innings of one run ball!!
Part of being a winner, is also being Class when you lose.
I like the mentality and "team" that this team has.
I wouldnt trade that for the roster of all-stars like some "other" teams for
anything.
we lost. I may be dissapointed, But I'm still Damn PROUD of this team, and
what it stands for.
I was introduced to baseball and the mets in second grade in 1969, and I
havent once
desserted allegiance in the 38 seasons since.
even when danny frizzella(sp?) was blowing games left and right.
so what happens next year in left?
re-up cliff?
platoon millidge and chavez?
free agent? (who's out there that will "fit-in"?)

Beltran should of took a swing with 2 strikes, but I think players
these
days are taught to look for a pitch way too much. He needed to be more
defensive, but St. Louis was getting benefits by the umpires are close
pitches while the Mets were not, and check swings.

What now? Wait 'til next year I guess. Can't beleive Beltran went down
on a called strike three. Can't beleive it's going to be 21 years
without a Championship. Good pitching beats good hitting but Beltran
should have tried even if he went down swinging.
