I guess Delgardo read my email and wanted me to eat some "crow". He finally
hit a ball hard (Home Run) in Thursday's win over the Reds. He just has to
cut down on his strikeouts and make contact with the ball and nature will do
the rest. If you don't hit the ball, it's hard to get hits.

i understand what ur saying about delgado i havnt seen him hit the ball all
that hard latley but he is still feared by pitchers i see him get walked
alot and they dont realy throw him pitches to hit like they do to jacobs and
the rest of the marlins. its like with the mets pick ur poison and choose
who u will pitch to and who will beat u with the marlins its just like well
just let him put it in play they dont have runners on the bags and the other
team is winning so i still would rather have delgado than jacobs its just
that one is in a slump and the other is hot at the moment

Tim,
Jacobs slugging % is .512 as of this morning. Maybe it's the 1st year
jitters like Beltran had last year, but I would expect a proven major league
hitter like Delgardo to hit any where. He is so strong and you would expect
a hitter like him to hit a baseball hard at least 50% of the time

am watching tonight's game versus the Reds (Wed) and I have seen Delgado
strike out twice in the first two times up, with a at least one man in
scoring position. Can anyone tell me the last time he hit a ball hard? All
he does is strike out and hit weak ground balls. Even his occasional hits
are all singles that bounce through the infield. Nothing is hit hard. He's
batting .100 something since last month. I think he may have a health or
medical problem. No one can go from a feared slugger to what he has been
doing lately. Maybe the Mets should have his eyes and his reaction time
tested. Mike Jacobs is starting to look like we let another "future" get
away. What do you think?
