As good as that sounds on paper that deal makes absolutely no sense,
because Reyes would most certainly be in the package that gets a-
rod. Mets should instead sign Vlad, get a centerfielder and
secondbaseman to go with most probably Urbina and some nontendered
pitchers. However, all our scenarios don't seem to be the game plan
wilpon and duquette are working on. The need to dump Cedeno asap.

It's a huge salary, but the mets have the Money, it will bring spectators, and numbers, especially after getting rid of Garbage like Mo Vaughn, Cedeno, etc....
