the mets dont need bats...they need more pitching. it was stated in
the news today that they are considering trading for carlos zambrano,
the best batting pitcher in the majors. the mets staff right now is:
1. john maine
2. tom glavine
3. oliver perez
4. orlando hernandez
5. jose sorga
pedro should be back in august, but he always seems to be a start a
way from another dl stint. same for el duque. and a lot of experst
beleive oliver perez is the real deal but he can be hot & cold. and
john maine's numbers can only go down, which i sworrisome as well.
zambrano is a cy young-calliber pitcher on an underachieveing
team.how about the mets trade away pelfrey, heilman, shawn green, and
a player to be named later, for zambrano & soriano.

I disagree that Delgado is declining, slumping yes, he has been
hitting alot better at late, he's had solid power numbers over the
last three seasons a combined 103 homers and 338 rbi's. The Met's
will have to look for a team with alot of depth in the outfield, a
team would be likely to trade if they know they got a guy that can
step in the everyday lineup. I agree Gomez needs more seasoning, but
he does look like a good future outfielder for the Mets.
